I have just reinstalled my sims with the 64bit Mac OS on my laptop. It is running well, but for some reason I don't have the option for my sim to fish or swim in the sea.
I have both Seasons and Island Paradise.
my husband seems to think he can remember this happening to me years ago. but obviously, I have lost the plot.
does anyone have any ideas about what I may be missing?

This is a Known Issue™ with the 64-bit Mac version, and it affects everyone. You can see it's quite an unpopular bug.

The only thing that might work is clicking through another object, for example if you have Island Paradise, you might be able to click on a boat and tell your sim to fish in the water underneath. I don't know how reliable that is though. There's no other workaround.

thanks for your help. That is a real pest, because the feature of being able to swim in the sea was one of my favourites.
