One of my seven family ghosts caused a script error soon after changing hometowns to Dragon Valley.
But I don't have a log of that specific error.

When I was playing that save last night, I tried figuring out what was going on with that specific urn as it's the only one that hasn't manifested after a week in the new town, while all the other ghosts have come out repeatedly.

I clicked on a sim to mourn on that specific urn, and she was immediately reset.
I moved the urn outside and back in and the mourning action caused a reset of the sim both times.

I tired resetting the urn itself but afterward, it still threw errors.

Can anyone discern what's going on with that urn and its ghost with the script error I posted?

Is there a way to get the ghost to come back, like recover missing sims maybe?

Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.

The proper way to provide error logs is to drag and drop the file. It's very hard to read all jumbled like you've provided it. Does the urn say the dead Sims name when you hover or just Remains? If you search for dead Sims with MC, does this dead Sim appear and have a thumbnail in the listing? If you use DebugEnabler's Fix Invisible Sims does it change anything?

Sorry about that. I was afraid it might be difficult to make any sense out of as I couldn't get the error log to drag and drop just copy/paste.

Yes, the urn does say the dead sim's name.

I've never searched for dead sims.
If you know the path for that, I'll try it next time I'm in game.

I'll try Debug Enabler's Fix Invisible Sims too.

Thanks for providing a couple of fixes.

I'll let you know if they work.

In a search for dead sims with MC, the sims name appears but hers is the only thumbnail of 12 that is blank.

DE's Fix invisible Sims fixed a deer and a raccoon but not the dead sims thumbnail as it's still blank.

Any other things I can try?

I'm in my TJ game and I just got a message "Missing Sim Recovered: Lorelei Frio"!

She's the dead sim, one of my family ghosts that hasn't been able to manifest since we moved to Dragon Valley.
The one who's urn causes the living family members to reset if I choose 'mourn.'

I checked her thumbnail under a search for dead sims and it's still blank.

So does anyone know if that mean she's actually restored or not?

I doubt it. That is for Sims who got mistakenly hibernated so I'm not sure why it's recovering her. If the errors continue you may be forced to just TA her as she seems pretty corrupted.

Unfortunately, the dead sim in question is my 7th generation heir.

She does show up on the family tree connecting all the gens from my Founders to my current one, gen 12, with gen 13 on the way.

Well, a blank thumbnail shows up with her name and traits and all. :(

If I did TA her wouldn't that break my intact family tree?

On the other hand, if I don't will her corruption start affecting other things in my game?

And there's truly nothing I can try to fix her, to make her thumbnail appear as it should, both in a dead sim search as well as the family tree?

With gen 13 on the way in my current save, I really hate to think I'd have to start this world over.

But I have restored two of my archived saves to my active saves folder, the last one in MV, the town prior to DV, as well as the first save in DV after changing hometowns to see if I can pinpoint where her corruption happened.
Edit: She shows up with her icon in my last MV save, but not in the first DV save, so it's DV where she 'broke'. :(

Any chance there's a way to get a copy of her uncorrupted 'dead' file from an earlier save and put it in my current save without messing up my game?

I have done something...sort of like this, and it worked like a charm, with no resulting issues with my game. My sim wasn't dead, but it was a similar situation.

So, what I did was, I saved a sim from an earlier version of my current save to the Library. I went to the current save and TA'd the sim I wanted to replace. I think I did a "save as", exited to desktop, and then reloaded the game after that step, just in case.

Then, I placed the Library version of the sim into an empty house in the current save, and it pretty quickly (maybe instantly?) placed him in the correct family tree, restoring his family relationships with his children, parents, and siblings. Everything linked up as it should, and I haven't seen any problems in my game from this, even after a few generations.

Not sure how it would work for a dead sim, so it's probably best if you can find a living version of your sim to do this with (if you have backups from that far back). The way Chain explained it to me, even if she was young and had no kids yet in the old save, the game could recognize her place in the newer family tree due to both versions of her having the same Sim ID. And once your family tree is linked back up, you can always kill her off so she can go back to being a regular dead ancestor.

Or, if you don't have a living version of her, you could have some random person from the old save put her tombstone in their inventory, save them to the Library, and see if placing the tombstone in the graveyard would work to restore the family tree. (After TA'ing the corrupted version and all that.) I haven't tried this, but it might be worth a shot if you can't do it the other way.

indignantgirl ---you have given me hope!!!

I have multiple saves of the sim in question, from her birth to her death and as a family ghost!

Since it's actually been several generations since she was alive and no one in the currently active family ever knew her except as family ghost, I'm thinking your second option of having a random person bring her tombstone to my current town might be the better option.

To confirm, I would keep the random sim with her tombstone in the library until I loaded up the current save and TA'ed the sim?

I've never TA'd a sim previously, except for a glitched IF doll, so if you could provide the correct pathway for that I would appreciate it.
(TA'ing sims makes me nervous!)

Once that's done, I put the random sim in a home, switch active play to them and place the tombstone in the mausoleum and that should restore the family tree?

After that I could switch back to my active family and pick up the tombstone so the ghost can reside with the family again?
