No Match Filters

Post by honey_t » April 20th, 2022, 2:01 pm

No matter how many times I try to fix the criteria of the filters, I keep receiving "no matches". I am trying to create a filter with Active Family, Coworkers, Long-term Relationships, and Relation. I just recently downloaded the NRass mods again so my Tagger and MC should be up to date. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

I am not sure what this filter shall be, can you please give more details?
The more criteria you choose it will add it like AND - depending what you want.
F.i. if you wanna show co-workers who could be "homeless sims" they might be not "on the map" but in a save place you cannot reach.

It's best to use filters for real residential sims.
To see if the filter normally works use Mastercontroller from cityhall
Focus - and choose filter, if there are no matches, your filter setting is possibly wrong.
All filters are explained here: MasterController-Interactions#Selection-Filters

If you use the color tag system you can see those easily
Color Tags by Relationship with Active Household
Colors Sims tags based on his/her relationship with the current selected Sim.
Default: True

Info: if you create a new filter in tagger (instead of MC) you need to go in twice, the first filter select won't work at the moment (fix comes in next version).

No Match Filters

I wanted to create a filter where only the active house, their coworkers, friends, and families appeared. I tried just doing a test where the only criteria for the filter was Relation: blood, step, and ancestors and it said there were no matches.

Where is Focus? I also do not see an option on my MC menu for selection filters.

MC - SIM - Basic - Focus MasterController-Interactions#Focus-Mas ... teractions

Tagger -Filter:
- the active household sims are always green tagged
- Relation: blood, step, and ancestors - I think only choose one not all
Try with MC - focus
Filter:
- (Test Full Family)
- Blood of Step (means only real blood related)

You can also use in Tagger
"Enable Lot Tags" (if you haven't already, default is false) and you can see which houshold has blood related sims in it for the currently selected sim.
Family - Default is turquoise means real blood related
Friend - Default is orange
Romantic - Default is purple

I tested it and for me it works, do this - but note that the filters only show sims concerning your active selected sim when using family related filters not sims related to all of your household:
  1. Create different filters with MC under Setting (this way you can use them also for tagger)
Name it like _Family-blood _Co-Workers and _Relationships (this way they will be at the top of the default list)
    - for blood as I wrote above + the Test Full Family
    - for co-workers only choose this option
    - friends via Longterm Relationship by category all higher than aquaintance + the Test Full Family
  2. now make a hot key for Focus via Mastercontroller under Settings, to reach it via the nraas root more easily, so you can proof your filter if there are sims listed/match or to find a sim faster
  3. In Tagger the option under Sim Filters - something like "Match all filters" must be on, so you can use more than 1
  4. Now enable all 3 filters
These kind of filters including the "Test all Family" one are more ressource intensive. Thats why I would not use them permanent. The Relationship Tag Settings may be better to deal with.
