I had my sims in Monte Vista travel to Isla Paradiso, and after a few sim hours, my game completely shuts down. This also happened when I had sims living in Shang Simla travel to Appaloosa Plains, it crashed almost immediately after arriving. Then when I reloaded, it only lasted a few sim hours. Is there anything I could do to fix this?

Are you routinely saving the game, quitting entirely to the desktop (or Origin if relevant), and reloading as immediately as possible after arriving at these destinations? Even with Traveler, world travel is very jarring to the game and since the game leaks memory (RAM) like a sieve at times, it's best to start fresh once a different world has begun simulating.

Also, are ErrorTrap and Overwatch in play and is ErrorTrap reporting anything before the crash?

I save my game throughout my time playing and do the "save as" right before traveling. Once I arrive at the location i "save and quit" to desktop. Then I load the game back up and start playing. I have both ErrorTrap and Overwatch, but I'm not sure if I get an ErrorTrap report. In my sims 3 folder, I always get files that start with "xcpt LAPTOP" when my game crashes, is that what you're talking about? And when you say it's best to start fresh once a different world has begun simulating, do you mean doing a "save as" then quitting to desktop after arriving at the destination?

Yes, but from the sound of it you are already accomplishing the same thing. I just meant with a freshly loaded game session.

ErroTrap logs show up as ScriptError xml files in your user game folder. The xcpt files (and related mdmps) are crash logs (and memory dumps), and are usually useless as they typically just tell us that the game has just crashed.

There's a couple of other variables worth mentioning here. Shang Simla is not designed to be a homeworld. I actually don't know what playing it as one might be doing to the game's stability. And Isla Paradiso is horribly design-flawed. If the world isn't fixed up first, it will not be very playable for long for just about anyone. Do things work any better with other world travel combinations?

So is there anything more i can do to prevent crashing while traveling?

I'll try and travel to a different world with the sim living in Monte Vista, is there any other worlds i should avoid like Isla Paradis? Also i have ellacharmed's world fixes installed if that helps

Ella's world fixes are great, but often do not go far enough as the problem with Isla extends into some very flawed residential and boat port lots on and around which sims get stuck (among other things) to the point where the game engine gets overwhelmed repeatedly trying to get them out.

Bridgeport is not generally great for testing, but not the same level of bad and shouldn't be crashing the game. The most gentle worlds are Sunset Valley, Twinbrook, and Riverview, but really any EA made homeworld is going to be way better than Isla P.
