Hello everyone. I'm back again... And I went back to the resorts in the game. First of all, I'd like to be outraged that the sims world is too unfair. Once I was building a luxury resort on the seashore. I was careful about the design, I used a lot of good furniture, also, I made sure that there were a lot of buffets, snack stalls and entertainments. What is the result? Basically, in addition to my characters, there are two or three vacationers. But recently I edited the "resort" in Lucky Palms. If anyone knows, there is such a housing lot in a disadvantaged desert area. I left almost everything there as it is, just added a few objects for the entourage. There were no pools with water, no wedding arches, no hottubs, moreover, even the sea is not visible for a mile. And guess what? The resort was packed on the first day, even the richest, even celebrities flocked there from the other side of the world. Why?!
Now let's talk about the problem. Does someone have to take care of the prosperity or at least the sanitary standards of the resort, or am I demanding too much from the game again? Okay, I know I can fix all the objects with MC, but what about the mess? I could have ignored these unmade beds, but when I saw a lot of vacationers who were poisoned by food with flies, I felt uneasy. These poor idiots stuffed their cheeks with long-spoiled food again and again... Is there a mod for automatically updating the assortment of dishes?
Next, I have another important pressing question. I decided to try using a carpet to simulate a rabbit hole... and that's wonderful! No more suffering due to the fact that a standard huge or unsuitable building completely negates the entire design idea. However, the carpet also sometimes irritates the eyes. I'd like to put it in a hidden room, but it seems that it no longer works correctly this way. Should it be in a prominent place or am I doing something wrong?
And one more additional question. If I have the Money module for SP, will sims really pay for accommodation at the resort?Because by default, "All Inclusive" is free for them.

That's a good question. I'm interested in hearing this, as well. Those rabbit hole lot carpets are very useful, but not very aesthically pleasing... A good way to hide them out of sight and yet keep them functioning would be awesome!Sara_Darkees wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 7:59 amHowever, the carpet also sometimes irritates the eyes. Does no one know anything about my topic? Well... At least I found a way to deal with the disgusting food. It turns out that if the quality of food on the buffet is low, then the disheswill spoil in a matter of seconds. Probably a strange glitch.

You may find Carl's Guide to Island Paradise Resorts helpful. That's where I went when I wanted to learn more about the resorts but they didn't interest me long enough to actually play them so I don't have any hands-on experience.

Oh, thanks, that's interesting. Especially this: "Low quality food ($5 upkeep) is a bad choice as you will have either bad or neutral food moodlets coming from it. There's also a 25% chance these foods will come out spoiled or burned".Sarah_Sims wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2021, 11:14 amYou may find Carl's Guide to Island Paradise Resorts. But still, eating with flies is too much, even in cheap bars this is not served I also noticed that some options will probably become available to me when my sim becomes the owner of the resort, not just a guest.
And what about the fact that the residents of the town do not pay anything? In my other topic, I mentioned the debtor sim. It's really strange to me to see how he still enjoys not only the resort, but all the other privileges.

About the rabbithole carpets/rugs, I believe you have to have a lot of space around them, as well as door/stairs, so they are accessible to the resort staff. I originally put a couple of rugs in a basement and the maids would spend hours cleaning the floors around the rugs. I don't think the guests ever used the rugs as resort rooms though, even though I had all the resort options when I clicked on them. I eventually removed them and made the room into a little nightclub area, which guests seemed to enjoy more.
One thing I've noticed with University rugs is that they seem to take a while for the functions to show up. I think maybe I have to place the rugs and then restart my game. I don't remember if it's the same for the resort tower rug, but it might be something to think about if the resort interactions aren't showing up.

But they actually use. Currently, I have two rugs lying right at the doors of two little houses which allegedly belong to the service sims. It doesn't look too bad, but I'd still like to hide them.indignantgirl wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2021, 3:25 pmI don't think the guests ever used the rugs as resort rooms

I think my guests just didn't like the rugs because they had to go all the way downstairs and through a door to access them, whereas the real resort towers were right outside, where it was more convenient. Sometimes my sims will go far out of their way to use less doors, it seems.
I've never found a good way to truly "hide" any of the rabbithole rugs. I tend to do what you do, just leave them in the open and try to make them fit in as much as possible.

Once I set up an important resort option so that vacationers mostly prefer VIP-rooms rather than rooms in the resort tower. Right now I'm playing with a low-rated resort in Lucky Palms. Since guests are happy to rush there to settle in, all the VIP-rooms are eventually occupied, so some sims go to rest in the tower, which is actually a carpet. And they don't care that there are zero places for visitorsindignantgirl wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2021, 12:07 amI think my guests just didn't like the rugs because they had to go all the way downstairs and through a door to access them, whereas the real resort towers were right outside, where it was more convenient. I use the Rh rugs all the time as I hate builds with fullsize rabbit holes buried in the basement. They are a bit of an eyesore but i usually just CAS them to match the flooring. You can't put things in hidden rooms bc they're hidden from Sims.
The money module, as far as I know, has inactive Sims pay for things just as active Sims would or at least simulates it well. I have seen Sims all around town doing all sorts of expensive things. I play an expensive game and don't let my Sims get anything for free. No groceries, no gym, no spa, no community coffee, no nightclubs/lounges, almost nothing in my games are free. They even pay for taxis and subways, and have increased property tax on top of the $25 a day they pay to just exist. My point being when I see these inactives buzzing about enjoying all these amenities their overlord provides and then switch to them as my active household about 7/10 they are in debt. So I mean something is working. You can also turn on the notifications via SP to monitor who is paying their bills and who is falling short.
