I'm not sure if this a bug or s something I'm missing but I can't get the column filters to work as I want them.
I want to have Active Household, Selected Sims and Viewed Lot in these columns
Col 1 - Active Household
Col 2 - Selected Sims
Col 3 - Viewed lot
I can never get col 3 to show viewed lot, they all lump together in col 2 with the selected sims.
But, and this is the weird part, I can get selected sims to be in the col 3 but I can't get viewed lot in col 2 lol.
Now, if the camera is on the active household, col 1 (active) and col 3 (selected sims) show up with a gap in the middle where col 2 (Viewed Lot) is supposed to show, obviously it won't as the camera is not hovering over a viewed lot. But I don't like the gap, it looks messy and distracting. So I thought having active household and selected sims next to each other would look neater and then when I hover over inactive lots and houses, they can appear/disappear in col 3 at will. Its not so distracting. But it's not working.
I even tried to 'Set Sim Column' to col 2 for individual selected sims, thinking that would keep them separate from Viewed lot sims, but that doesn't work either. None of the Revert....settings are set to True so I don't know what else is pushing them all together in col 2.
Am I missing something? Thanks in advance

Why won't Portrait Panel Columns show the sims I want?
Here is my setting, I only added the Viewed Lot to test:
Filter:
Inactive Humans true
Sims to list:
Active household, active home lot, selected sims and viewed lot
Columns:
Revert On Filter Failure - true
Revert On Too Many Sims - false
1 = Active sims
2 = Active sims
3 = animals, selected, viewed, inactives, relatives
Sorting:
Typo of sort: by the species of the sim
Type of Sort: Secondary - Age
Type of Sort: Tertiary - Name
Reverse Sort - true the others false
And I find this works good, if I view another lot, the family is displayed in column 2 and 3 behind my active human sims.
The same with visitors on my active lot (including ghosts spawn in my private mausoleum).
The sorting starts by age in 1 column bottom with the youngest and so on.
It surely depends on how many sims there are (I have 18 sims, including 5 animals, in my house), so I need column 1 and 2 for them (and 3 for the animals)
I hope you will find a way

Why won't Portrait Panel Columns show the sims I want?
I recognized that in view mode (which I deactivated now) sims will also be in col 1 when they have the age for this (I did an age sorting).
Not when I am on my home lot.
For me viewed lot is not usable, too many more sims in my panel irritate me, especially when they apear among my actives instead at the end, I use Tagger for this, the sim icons in map view or click the building or ground and MC go to, if there are too many sims on the lot.
Maybe Chainreaction can clarify why the columns are sometimes mixed.

Why won't Portrait Panel Columns show the sims I want?
Hi C.Dark, long time no see, glad to see you you're still here on NRaas after all this time
Yep, I've read all the PP documentation, I pretty much know it all off by heart lol. I know exactly how I want PP to work for me.
I'm trying lots of different combinations and settings re Columns, Sorting and Filters but I just can't get Selected Sims and Viewed lot seperate in the columns I want, so I'll try another way.
Edit: i just tried your settings, just as a test! Wow, that's' a very complex set up, I thought mine was bad enough lol
So you have 18 sims in your active household! They would definitely take up two columns lol.
The most sims I have played in an active household is about 6. My Selected Sims are 6 sims (different sims who own businesses I switch to in rotations). I want them in column (2) next to the Active Household in column 1 and NOT column 3. I have no idea what is preventing this.
If some lots didn't have a lot of sims visiting, I wouldn't mind them mixing in Col 2 with Selected Sims, but my PC/game is playing very well to actually have 20 sims on one lot without any crashing so I'm not complaining really lol.
I'll switch off Viewed Lot for now until there is a fix or I find another way around it. I'll keep an eye on this thread

Why won't Portrait Panel Columns show the sims I want?
I'm putting nothing helpful here, but I have 30+ sims in one family and I'd like the first visible colums to be filtered as humans according to (1) age from old to young and then (2) name, and after that the pets... but for some reason I can't get it function like that. Pets are first, and then human sims go to several colums visible and hidden and it disturbs me. I haven't figured it out yet... What I mean is, I'd like to see all human sims at once. There are 11 of them so, in theory, I guess it should be possible?

Maybe try my setting but without relatives and viewed lot
The age starts with the youngest 1 column at the bottom
Then only change in Sorting:
Reverse Sort Secondary (by age) - true and
Reverse Sort Tertiary (by name) - also true
Now the oldest will start in column 1 at the bottom
If you do not want visitors of your home lot to be listed then
Sims to list:
Active household, active pets, selected sims
If you have more than 24 sims fill all 3 columns you may click the cycle bottom for more
