Missing "Edit in CAS" option for 1 Sim? plz help

Post by atari » May 2nd, 2021, 2:55 am

Hi everyone!
I've run into a little problem, where there is no "Edit in CAS"- option in nraas/Master Controller/Advanced just for one specific sim (Vincent), it's there and working for every other sim.
Weird.
I also miss the Stylist - option also just for this one.
It's probably my fault by playing around with options I didn't fully understand but now I'm stuck hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance!

Missing "Edit in CAS" option for 1 Sim? plz help

Post by igazor » May 2nd, 2021, 3:03 am

Hi there. There's a number of reasons that this can happen, intentionally. One is that the sim is very busy going through an important life-changing transition at the time -- such as dying (!!) or giving birth. Another is that they are actually a resident of a different world than the one being played -- any chance that this sim is a tourist or visiting from a foreign connected world? If so, there is nothing that can bring them into any form of CAS, with or without mods.

Looks like this sim might be part of your actively controlled household, though. The pic is a bit dark so I 'm not sure. What does the fairy flight moodlet indicate? Maybe the transition theory is more likely than the foreign one, meaning an occult state transition is happening.

Hi igazor!
Thank you for the pointer! Yes, this sim is part of the household, not dying (at least I hope so!) but I recently moved the whole household over to this town, but the option is there for every other member of this household. The moodlet comes from his wife bestowing him with flight of felicity. Guess I have to wait for it to wear off, maybe it's that!
Or is there a way to turn this occult state transition off?

Sure. Since your sim is not truly a fairy (right?), you could either wait 20 sim hours for the moodlet to wear off on its own or you could zap it away with MC. NRaas > MC > (Sim) > Intermediate > Moodlets > Remove Moodlet.

He's not, - yet, he first has to go through the whole alchemy skillset to learn how to brew the magic potion for it. Until then he'll get pestered and sometimes rewarded with a bit of fairy magic by his spouse :)
Thank you again for your suggestion! I really appreciate it!

For anyone reading this because they have the same issue, I would like to add that this happened to me with a sim who turned pink after sleeping next to a moodlight. So there are other moodlets besides the flight of felicity that can cause this.

Yes, if the sim has any transformation buff they cannot be modified due to EA limitations.

I'm feeling a little "blue" today, think I'll buy some new clothes and get my hair restyled.

D'oh! :(

Quick update: I can confirm that it was exactly this issue. After the moodlet wore off everything was back to normal and the sim could be modified like any other.
