Prevent Body Shape Change

Post by InoPratama » April 15th, 2021, 12:26 am

Hello guys,

Does body shape change (weight gain / loss & muscle gain / reduction) only apply to household sims that are played / active?

Then is there a way to turn off features, weight gain / loss & muscle mass?

especially for inactive sims, thank you.

Body shape changes apply to all sims in the world, not just the actively played household. Any sim can overeat, exercise, etc. and gain or lose the benefits. How in the world are we supposed to play out our fantasies of being the wicked witch in Hansel and Gretel if we can't trap neighborhood children in our dungeon and begin fattening them up? :P

(good grief, how did fairy tales like that ever get released to the general public centuries ago...this would never fly past censorship and sensibilities these days)

Uhm anyway, NRaas does not have a mod to switch off weight/muscle gain or loss. Some of this can be accomplished by way of tuning (and Retuner) but it's very complicated in this case.

Shimrod has at least a couple of mods at The Sims Asylum that will do much of what you want, in one case as I recall he tricks the tuning into making muscle gain/loss (might be similar with weight?) so ridiculously small per sim hour of activity that one would never see the difference on-screen. Something like, numerically, if a sim were at 45 for one of these values then after working out nonstop for 18 sim hours they might be at 45.001 or something like that.

I use a mod by Twoftmama ("lose weight gain fitness slower") that serves this purpose for me, though it also affects actives. I'm not a fan of how my entire town would have that jacked bodybuilder look after a few sim-weeks, and I was always having to adjust my actives AND inactives in CAS or with MC to keep their fitness at a more reasonable level. About halfway up the fitness slider is about my limit, unless the sim has a reason to look super-ripped.

I should add that my sims who are ALREADY muscular stay muscular. Same with muscle definition. Heavy sims might have slight noticeable weight loss over the course of their lives, but mostly people stay how I want them to be.

Shimrod has a mod (low fat sims, I think) to prevent weight gain from overeating (like at buffets and such), but I haven't used it because I don't really see inactives overeating to that extent. In my game, what sometimes would SEEM like weight gain was actually maximum bulky muscle gain under an average-weight build. But of course, that is now corrected by the Twoftmama mod.

I have only seen a sim noticeably gain weight while playing in SV. Paula Wan kept going back to the buffet table during a wedding like I think about 10 times and went from skinny to all the way to the top of the weight slider in an afternoon. This was before I discovered mods, but I was like damn girl leave some good for the other guests. I was waiting for her to explode.

This is why I don't use buffet tables except at resorts. I had a wedding in SV (Leighton Sekemoto and Parker Langerak) where everybody was going to town on that buffet. By the time of the actual ceremony, Parker's dad and Leighton (and a few others including Pauline Wan) had bloated all the way up. I played Leighton active after that until I got him back in shape (he was a professional athlete and it seemed like he should be more fit), and most of the the others got back into moderate shape without my help, but for whatever reason Dustin Langerak stayed at max weight forever.
