My Sim is on vacation in Lago Simiore and just moved in with her boyfriend, who is a local (I added him to her household using Master Controller, then they bought a new vacation house and moved in). I am eventually going to have them break up and she'll go back home by herself, leaving him behind. What is the safest way to split up the household when this happens?

This isn't usually the way it's done, but it sounds like the BF never saw the homeworld that he would have become a resident of if you had returned home with him first. It seems like it should be okay to MC > Add Sim him to a different household then, or to one of his own, in this case. But make sure to have a Save As to fall back on just in case this causes a problem right away.
