I suspect you know this, but I'll take the bait. The Partridge was David Cassidy, Joe Hardy's (Shaun's) older half-brother. :)

And yet again, a few of the trees had moved just a couple of squares away from where I put them! I know this because they are set inside a small bordered bed and once again they are no longer in that bed. Has anyone else experienced this ever? Also, they are not forced there in any way, like if using "move objects".
This had me thinking again, specifically that the trees were in a bordered bed. Maybe eucalyptus trees, with their gigantic size, don't really fit inside the beds you've created? Even if you can place the trees, or the beds, without the MoveObjects On cheat, the game may read an obstruction when reloading. Other trees have a smaller footprint and would presumably not be affected in this way.

It would be easy to test though: place a bunch of different trees in identical beds on an otherwise mostly empty lot, save, quit, reload. If you don't want to do it, let me know the dimensions of the beds you create for the trees and I'll try.

No, but I think I was confused. I thought he was saying that Shaun Cassidy was the name of one of the Hardy Boys. Now I realize he meant he was the actor who played him in the TV show.

It's probably the same issue from here - apparently it's something that happens occasionally. No idea about how to fix it aside from manually moving them back, tho.

Yes I meant who played him. I didn't remember the Hardy boys names, I never really watched them but my brothers did. Shaun stood out because he was in poster form on my sister's wall.
I did watch the Partridges, mostly in re-runs since I was born in 1970 and too young to see most of them in prime-time. Oh yes and my mother had an 8-track soundtrack of the Partridges. So I also remember David Cassidy, aka Keith Partridge. :D I remember a bio of his hwere he said how he hated singing those songs. He said his friends used to make fun of him because he and they were more of the hard-rock genres. But hey, it was a paycheck...right?
I have to say though, I still think the music was fun and I love hard rock, but wasn't afraid of admitting I liked the fluff-stuff too. Like The Carpenters. Even today my CD/iPhone collection runs the gambit from Abba to Rob Zombie. I just love music in general and there's hardly a genre I don't like something from.

Yeah, it's a similar thing and I did see where it was occurring in their Riverview town too!

I thought so at first, but it wasn't just the ones in the bordered beds that were moving. The one in the backyard was just in a corner alone and kept moving to the middle of the swimming pool. Which wouldn't be allowed in any form, even if move objects was on.

I just checked on imdb. Shaun Cassidy was in the Hardy Boys. David Cassidy was in the Partridge Family

Shaun Cassidy played Joe Hardy and Parker Stevenson played Frank Hardy on The Hardy Boys series.

Shaun's older half brother, David Cassidy, played Keith Partridge in The Partridge Family.

I watched both shows and read the books too.

Sorry, I just had to jump in and clarify that information.

I've never actually had trees move around, but I have had gnomes get stuck half on and half off my active family lot.
And I've never figured out a way to get them back on the lot either.
You can't pick them up, and resetting them or the lot doesn't do anything.

deedee_828, For the gnomes, try clicking near them and selecting NRaas > MasterController: > Radius Add to Inventory. (Choose the MC option with the colon after it, not the target.) That should work whether the gnomes count as on or off the lot.

Thanks for the pathway for that puzzleaddict! I will definitely give that a try next time I have a stuck gnome. :)

When I played in Riverview many years ago the trees had suddenly moved. Not sure if I found that out just after loading the game or if it happened during gameplay. I had added cars by Fresh Prince, so I assumed that it had something to do with it. (I removed them. Then a year or so later I tried a car by FP again and then the game crashed when loading. So my game doesn't like cars by FP).

I couldn't fix the problem. Trees from the world map moved onto lots, so I couldn't removed them in edit world because they were on lots, and not in build/buy mode because they were on the world map... I had to move my sims to another world.
