Yes, sims do actually purchase the items and you will find them in either the sims' personal inventory or family inventory, depending on the item purchased. Some items do not work correctly though and these are explained on the mod's FAQ page, here: The-Savvier-Seller-FAQ#What-items-can-I ... d-not-sell.
