Woohooer not working with Nightlife Help

Post by EnZimE » October 31st, 2020, 2:13 pm

Hey so I have been more or less using the forums as a way to troubleshoot issues that seemed common for the most part with MasterController and Woohooer but I did not see this one.

The mods work fine for my base game no problem. I just recently downloaded Nightlife and even went through the trouble of taking my entire town of created sims, combining into one home and moving them over to a new Nightlife town to experience the expansion only to find out that functions associated with Woohooer are not working.

I debugged to see the errors and I get STC Failed. I looked for the links associated to addressing and fixing but then I said let me try something. No changes to the MasterController or Woohooer settings, I don't save and go to my original town. The mods work perfectly fne. I go back to the new Nightlife town and create new sims from scratch thinking it might be related to the sims I moved. Same issue with the STC Failed and interaction level.

Is there some type of tweak I should be doing to get the mods to function in the expansion towns, or are the mods not created with the expansion in mind to work? Any help/suggestions (troubleshooting especially) would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there. All of the mods here are designed to work with all expansions.

Just to clarify something though, STC Failed is not an error. It stands for Short Term Context and is an intended part of the game. If a sim starts let's say chatting in a friendly manner with another sim, you can't get from there to Express Romantic Interest In or Woohoo (of any kind) because the STC has not yet risen from Sim A thinks Sim B is Okay, Being Flirty, etc. through to Irresistible. At least, that is the explanation when things are working as they should.

Can you get these sims to perform any Romantic interactions at all? I mean, can they chat each other up romantically with Admire Appearance/Personality, Flirt, eventually Kiss, etc.? Or are you not even getting a Romantic menu where you expect to see one? Is the StoryProgression mod in play as well, and is Woohooer linked to it? -- sometimes that link malfunctions especially after world travel and switching it off (under NRaas > Woohooer > General) helps bring the missing interactions back.

I do not use the StoryProgression mod and that option is disabled in my MasterController just in case.

They are able to express romance behavior etc with one another. Not sure how before but when using just the base game, I was able to WooHoo with strangers basically, or had the option to click on a bed and pick a person to WooHoo with. Maybe how my game was functioning was not by design with the Woohooer Mod or something. I did try with (2) married Sims and they were able to interact with the romance options as expected (even WooHoo).

Is there something in the WooHoo mod which allows you to freely WooHoo with strangers, and have a menu pop up on the bed when you select it? Not sure if I did something funky and grew use to that or what.

Oh, I see. No, it's not a matter of funky and we try not to be judgmental here. :)

Woohooer is a romance manager. You can most certainly set it so that sims will "do it" with just about anyone, autonomously or user directed, and then the threshold for the other sim agreeing to the offer to woohoo in that bed (shower, igloo, or whatever the object is) can also be lowered provided certain minimal conditions are met like age and gender. But these wouldn't be the mod's default settings.

If two sims are married/partnered and have a great relationship with each other, and there's nothing preventing them from being "in the mood" at the moment such as motives like hunger and energy too low or having woohooed perhaps more than once already recently and being in a cooling off period, then most of us do expect to not have to bring them through the entire STC song and dance to seduce the other every single time. But for unpartnered couples or complete strangers, we would expect something a little different.

Are you certain that you are using the same settings in this world as you were in the prior/other ones, because it sure doesn't sound like the mod is acting that way. We could try to step you through some of the settings not knowing exactly the effects you are looking for, and some of this will depend on whether the Scoring add-on module is in play and how its options are also set. But the path of somewhat less resistance might be to use Overwatch to export the Woohooer mod's settings from the world where you do have things set up as you wish and import them into the world where they don't seem to be lining up with expectations.

I'm about the path of less resistance if that works. I jumped between both and unless each new save file in the same game means I have to reconfig, then maybe that could be the cause? I did notice some parts of the config seemed...off (less likely that I would have them turned off when they should be on etc). I am about to try to create another save file and this time in one of the vanilla Sims 3 towns and see if it might be that I need to completely reconfig (and that took me some time in itself).

Created a new save in the vanilla town (Sunset Valley). I tweak some configs to which are normally disabled, immediately everything worked as I preset them.

Created a new save in the Nightlife town (forget the name). No tweaks or configs and everything worked as I preset the step before.

(I go to the main menu each step and do not save the game)

I go back to my Nightlife town with all my imported sims, and I have the options to WooHoo randomly a target, but the game says "they are a teen". I reset Woohooer, and I change the settings to allow and now I lose options, interaction levels, actor not cuddled, etc. from debugging. Teen to teen disabled suddenly as well. I am wondering if its from me moving all the sims over or something? No clue

The game should always be quit back to the desktop (or Origin if relevant) in between world loads even if not saving. There is a glitch in the game where the contents of RAM are not entirely emptied out in between world load-ups otherwise and the data from one world can get superimposed (improperly) on another. The presence of the Traveler mod makes this worse/more likely to happen, but it also happens to players who have no mods at all. Cant say that this is causing your current issue, but it can't be helping either.

And I'm going to recommend the Overwatch export/import strategy again, as it doesn't sound like you've tried that yet.

Overwatch was my solution. Thanks for the suggestion.

Still unsure what option in the config or bug was happening but now...don't care ^^.
