What you want then is a separate export, helpfully named, for each kind of climate that your various worlds may require so that you can grab the correct one and import it whenever needed.

The confusion is coming from calling these export sets "profiles." A Tempest seasons profile is what was being discussed here, not a Tempest export set. We can, if we want, have many profiles per season within a given world for a given season. We can't have many export sets applied to the same world, only one.

So when I export it will save all of the settings in one file--not just a single season. So I only have to import one time not four. That's even better than I thought if that's true.

We can't have many export sets applied to the same world, but when my sim travels I can set the weather in the travel world to a different export set with out it affecting the homeworld?

Correct. There wouldn't be any point to doing four imports on the same world within the same game. The 2nd one would entirely overwrite the 1st, the 3rd one would entirely overwrite the 2nd, etc. All four seasons are in there, in each export set.

The first time a connected world within the same ongoing game "sees" an NRaas mod, it picks up the settings from the world traveled from. After that, the mod settings are and remain independent between worlds within that ongoing game. So if you travel from SnowCoveredHeck (aka igazor's hometown) to Hot and HumidEvenWorseHeck (I hate weather...okay, not really), then go ahead and let the snowy settings get inherited. But then once you change anything while visiting HHWorseHeck, or do an import for more tropical settings, they remain independent of the homeworld.

It's the same with all of the mods from here, it's just that we don't (usually) think of MasterController requiring different settings for different connected worlds. StoryProgression, Woohooer, Register maybe but none of them are as in our face obvious and needing to be corrected immediately after that first arrival as Tempest, unless you really want three feet of snow dumped on Miami Beach or Cairo. :)

That is how I thought it all worked, but it's good to have it confirmed. Thank you so much!

As for dumping snow on Miami Beach or Cairo--that would only be truly fun in real life. :-D

But let's go back a step, please. Mod settings are stored within saved games and are world specific within those games. Any changes you make to Spring or Winter in World A within ongoing Game Save A have no impact whatsoever on other game saves. They don't have any impact on other connected worlds within ongoing Game Save A either, unless it's the very first time a connected world has "seen" Tempest. This is how we manage mod settings like those for Tempest across multiple games and multiple worlds within a game.
So you're saying if a start a new game and apply weather settings to that town, when I travel to China or France or Egypt it will apply those same weather settings to those worlds as well? Or are those worlds special, and it will apply the same settings to other custom worlds?

KevinL5275 - The former. The mods don't differentiate between EA or WA vs. custom worlds.

Also piggybacking (poor OP's back must be ready to give out from all of us 😉)... I downloaded the all EA towns profiles from the Tempest page. I cannot get it to import no matter what I try. How do I get it to cooperate or am I going to have to manually enter all the profiles?

Ok, I wasnt sure if there are default weather settings for the 3 vacation worlds built in or not. The answer is no, so every town will have the same weather as your howntown. Thank you.
