Building Glitch?

It gets confusing on this board when we are posting at the same time. My updates to my posts are not in sync. LOL. All in a days work I suppose. It reminds me of the chat-room days where you'd get a group talking and no one could keep up with the dozen different conversations everyone was having. LMAO :D

You do have to buy the world through Origin (it actually comes in a bundle with Hidden Springs), but it gets installed just like Riverview or any other store world. If you'd like to get it at some point, this is the product page:

https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/ ... lds-bundle

You'd buy the bundle and receive three product keys—one for MV, one for HS, and one for the chocolate fountain bonus item—which you'd register on the Sims 3 store site. Then you could download the worlds from your purchase history, or from their product pages.
--Heavy Sigh-- Well I've got good news and "I'm a dummy" news. The good news is that I got Monte Vista, the bad news is that somehow I only got Monte Vista!

So I tried to use the link for that bundle and for some reason Origin won't let me sign in from that page. I kept getting, 'Sign-in not available right now' (or something to that effect) So I closed everything, went to the store page from my bookmarks and THOUGHT I found this same bundle. I found this page https://store.thesims3.com/montevista.h ... ion=UpSell And I clicked the big gold/yellow button that said "Get the Bundle" and paid my $19.99. Turns out, that wasn't the same bundle and so I lost my opportunity to get all that from your link for the same price. :x  No Hidden Springs for me I guess.

I was a bit disappointed that MV didn't come with all that much new stuff. I didn't see any new clothing or objects other than the pizza oven. Though I did have the family I chose in my test game to make a pizza which was fun. Anyway, at least I got the thing I wanted the most, but I'm really bummed at the lack of extras as well as getting the wrong bundle. I've no idea what bundle my link is referring to cuz it didn't seem like too much.

The bundle you got was the world, the pizza oven, and 100 store points (yeah, that's not a lot of points but it's a bit better than 0). It wasn't the world bundle that included Hidden Springs and the Fountain of Youth that comes with it together with the Chocolate Fountain bonus item. So you didn't get ripped off exactly, you paid the "regular" price. I almost never use the Chocolate Fountain by the way, it's one of those items sims become obsessed with unless its over the top fun advertising is reduced by way of Retuner. Leave one on the kitchen counter and your sims will use it 24/7 until they become too fat to walk out the kitchen door. For those households that have one, I keep it hidden away in the family inventory and might bring it out for parties or on special occasions.

If you go back to the link you purchased on, click on the Items tab and keep hitting the Expand to Show More button to expand, you will see the CAS and Build/Buy items that you got with the world. It's not an EP or even a SP, so the list isn't very long but again it's not nothing.

And don't forget you got the world itself if you would like try playing it beyond testing or using it as a Traveler mod vacation destination. It's a very nice world. I like to send my artistic sims there to paint landscapes.

I wasn't totally bummed and I certainly am grateful for the help. I thought I'd at least get some clothing or a few other pieces that go with the towns theme, but it's fine. Not sure why that other link-page wont let me sign in to Origin, I even tried it again to see and I still get the same thing. yes... But I did get the world and the ability to make my own pizzas. So not a big loss. It was just an added disappointment to an already stressful and troublesome year.

And yes, this seems to me more like a vacation world than somewhere to live. I didn't save my test world for a few reasons, the main one being I already have 5 different towns/games going.

That's strange that origin.com wouldn't let you sign in, and I'm sorry it didn't work out. I never have any trouble with it, but then again I do see a lot of comments complaining about sign in issues elsewhere. Using a VPN is a common culprit, as are a couple of ISPs that don't seem to play well with either the Origin website or the app.

Anyway, if you want to fatten your sims up on an endless river of chocolate, you could get the fountain from the store for 125 points when it comes on sale, which will be... maybe a month from now? Actually, now that I look it up, November 15, 1:27 pm Central, two hour sale. Hidden Springs is unfortunately 2,000 points and never on sale.

If you ever get the sign in error like that in the future on either origin.com or thesims3.com (which is signing into origin as well), try clearing out your browser cache first and if that doesn't work, try using a different a different browser. It used to happen pretty frequently back when people purchased stuff often from thesims3.com.

Also, I don't know where you live, but my husband found Hidden springs in a game box, which now just sends me to thesims3.com for the digital download, but if you are lucky, you may be able to find it in the bargain bin somewhere like he did. I would not recommend trying to get it used, though because it won't work (the code will already be linked to someone's origin account). Back before all the COVID-19 mess, I did see it at Walmart and Target in the store every once in a great while on sale when they were getting rid of their PC games.

I'm okay now with not having a chocolate fountain and no I don't want fat sims, unless they are meant to be so. I did wish to have Hidden Springs, but that is okay too, perhaps some day when there's a big sale again. It seems as though that EA is now focusing on 4 for their sales and I'd rather eat dirt than mess with Sims 4 again. LOL (at least for the time being, what can I say, I can be a bit neurotic sometimes)

Anyway, not sure why, but I did not have any issue signing into Origin from my desktop nor if I went to the site on my own. Could it have something to do with that link and whatever my Google Chrome does or doesn't do? Did anyone else try to sign in after going there? and I'm not saying anything was wrong with the link you gave, I just don't understand. I've no idea and I even had to look up what a VPN was... :P So, I'm not really sure what the problem is, it STILL does this for me as I tried again today, Yet I can open another window or I can pull up Origin though my bookmarks and sign in just fine. Also, I keep my browsers pretty clean often. I even do a complete browser cleaning about once a month just as I never open my Sim game without deleting my cache files first.

I just tried and had the same issue. I have my settings in my web browser on strict and I use private browsing, though as well as some advanced settings. I went into my web browser settings and put them back to standard in security (I don't know if you have them set to anything different, but if you do, you might want to try this for just trying to sign in).

I then went into the Origin App, in which I was already signed in and went to the top menu Origin>EA accounts and billing. This will bring your profile on Origin.com in your default browser. From there, I just clicked home, up near the top by the EA logo. I then had to click "sign in," which was in the top right hand corner. Sorry it's such a long process, but it's the work around I found that worked for me.

I just opened up another window by clicking the link provided by Igazor to the origin bundle and it showed me as still being logged in. It showed it down in the left hand corner that I was logged in, very similar to how it looks to being logged into the Origin App.

Hope this was not too confusing :)
