Hello there It's been a while since I played sims 3 but covid came and i start playing it again. And i have one lingering question
How Retain Dreams and Opportunities option in Story Progression works exactly? I care with several households dreams and opportunities so I turned it on individually in story progression settings. But I confused with other retain dreams and opportunities settings in master controller. Should I enable it or not? I have enabled it but it seems doesn't erase households dreams and opportunities that I don't care with. I'm sorry if it has been asked before.

The settings don't conflict with or affect each other. Whether Dream Catching is invoked on a household switch or not depends on the method used to switch households.
MC - If the MC mod's Make Active is used, then Dream Catching will take hold according to MC's settings (so SP's settings don't matter).
SP - If the SP mod's switch command is used, then Dream Catching will take hold according to SP's settings; the difference here is that by using SP, the settings can be household or caste specific rather than global (so MC's settings don't matter).
PortraitPanel - Switching households by having and clicking on inactives in the portrait panel are subject to PP's settings.
Selector - Right-click sim/household switches using the Selector option are always Dream Catching.
Household moves/splits and Edit Town - These kinds of switches are governed by Mover.

I don't know that story progression has make active interaction. One more question, is there any way to see which household that has dormant dreams and opportunities? I don't want my save file to be bloated, and i don't want to erase all of it either (using mc command center- town - drop dreams and opportunities). Thanks for your answer.igazor post_id=77265 time=1600527496 user_id=6716 wrote: The settings don't conflict with or affect each other. On City Hall or an in-game computer, NRaas > MC > Sim > Basic > Family Tree (or some harmless command like that) > Filter to Has Dream Manager. You don't really need to run any family trees or whatever, this is just to get the filtered list to appear for informational purposes.
Unfortunately there is no command to cancel Dream Managers selectively. It's all or nothing using the Drop command you already know about -- the currently active household of course would be exempted.

Thanks! I guess I have to use make active interaction on household A and then make active household B, so that household A has dreams and opportunities dropped. That would work, right?igazor wrote: ↑September 19th, 2020, 12:31 pmOn City Hall or an in-game computer, NRaas > MC > Sim > Basic > Family Tree (or some harmless command like that) > Filter to Has Dream Manager. Yes, that sounds about right. I usually find that after some time passes, I don't really care or even remember which major wishes, dreams, opps a family I have rotated out of still has so it's fine to just dump them all once in a while. But of course, that's just me.
