I uninstalled AwesomeMod (ugh so many "headless" and "feetless" sims to fix using "debug enabler > fix invisble sims' after I did that!)
My original test daycare household has 4 toddlers. I made them active until the townie parents dropped off 3 toddlers in the morning (9am) and switched to a different household. Within 3 sim hours after switching away, 2 townie toddlers got auto reset at home but one *finally* stayed on the lot! The last townie toddler actually never auto reset... he was on the townie daycare lot until 11:39pm. I wanted him to stop "milking" my townie daycare household, so I MC-reset the little freeloader.
Then I switched to C-Dark's family (what a lovely lot! Amazing architecture & very unique curb appeal!). I didn't change anything, it was just to make sure the lot and the sims were fine.
I switched off to a different household, and made sure 2 sims in C-Dark's lot were given the "daycare" career per C-Dark's recommendation above.
- when I zoomed in on C-Dark's daycare lot from my active househld, the townie parents had dropped off 1x toddler autonomously on the daycare lot
- since my active household had a toddler, I also dropped him off on that lot, and he was instantly considered a daycare toddler. Sweet.
Things turned out real wrong, real quick as it so delightfully happens in TS3:
- The game generated townie children for the daycare lot. 1 of the 3 daycare children kept pranking 2/3 PCs on the main floor and 3/3 bathroom sinks (2 downstairs - 1 upstairs)
- The daycare household bot that I expected to teach my active toddlers to potty/walk/talk just spent their day cleaning up after the tiny hooligan's mess
- Everything in the main floor kitchen (sink) and both bathrooms (mainfloor and first floor - sinks, toilet) somehow broke down and were flooded.
- Poor Daycare simbot skilled up a wooping 3 level in handiness in a matter of 10 hours.
- The child also wore a cardboard box on his head towards the final official hours of the daycare, probaby because he was so proud of how productive he had been all day and it was time to finally chillax? Ugh.
- Also, for a reason that completely is out of my grasp, SP pushed the aforementioned enfant terrible and his 2x NPC siblings to move in C-dark lot. I mean, what a lovely bunch, but NO THANK YOU. I had to move them (along their parents who were Register townies) to their own lot in town, to teach them boundaries.
- The parent of the only toddler that was dropped off at 9am, came to pick him up at 6pm but stayed through 11pm, trying to talk to all other adults on the household who were casually rushing to fix all plumbing and breakage issues around the kitchen and bathrooms. They left their toddler behind. Much like my original test daycare household, that toddler never auto reset to his house lot.
- I switched to C-Dark's household to make it active, hoping the little neighbour would auto reset when I made the daycare lot, my active lot. He didn't bother. I had to manually MC-reset him to finally see him back to his house lot.
- The aforementioned pranking child & his siblings seemed to have left the lot on their own, shortly after I had created a lot in town for their family. Not sure if they auto reset or anything, they just were gone when I started wondering where they were, and stopped paying attention to the flooded mess and the adults in the middle of it.
- Oh, my active toddler auto-reset to the active household lot, by 5-ish pm. Which was great.
Also: SP fired up a notification that the grandpa gave away his stuff to his granddaughter. He's about to die. I don't blame him, after such a messy day. Probably wasn't expecting this when he told his daughter "sure honey, having kids in this house will bring more life to my calm lifestyle. It's way too calm here!" Yeah right.
To do next:
- find cheaty way to "instantly" upgrade all daycare lot breakable stuff (sinks, bathroom stuff, PCs, etc.)
- try to have the same gameplay as above, but with AwesomeMod re-installed, to have final confirmation that AwesomeMod is creating the autonomous daycare issues I mentioned in my OP.
