Hi Everyone,
I play on a relatively short lifespan and I'd like to give my sims the oppurtunity to learn their skills faster while they are at work and school if they choose to do so. While looking through how the Nraas Careers mods work, I found that there is a line in each skill building tone that goes <SkillRate1>1</SkillRate1> I haven't found much out about this line online but I'm assuming it has to do with how much skill points they gain each minute when using the tone since some parts have values in that line that are lower than 1. Regardless, I wanted to know if changing the line to <SkillRate1>2<SkillRate1> or even <SkillRate1>16<SkillRate1> in S3PE would do any damage to the game or the mod? Thanks in advance to those who read this!
Also, I do apologize if this is question against the rules, I could find anything about whether posts about editing the mod for personal use were prohibited or not.

Why don't you just use this mod over at MTS?
https://modthesims.info/d/486247/faster ... -7-14.html
Or if you only want to speed up your active sims?
Use mastercontroller - Sim - Advanced - Skill Level
This way you can instantly give yur sim as many skills you want - set the level as high you want.

Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately that mod conflicts with a couple of my other mods but I have Nraas relativity and I use that for faster skill gain when sims are outside of work and school.
I’m looking to edit the line more for my inactive sims since encouraging skill building is a bit harder for them. Especially for my young sims in school who have nothing better to do. I feel like it’s more realistic that those who spent time studying skills in school graduate with a couple skill levels and that those who take the time to “learn on the job” end up with increased skills too.

If you use Storyprogression you can give via caste settings like for teenager and young adults
force traits - in their are also lifetime rewards like Faster Learning etc.
Thats what I do
Edit: Also the sims need to use skill influencing objects, if they don't, they will not proceed, this is linked to traits too.
You can check objects with nraas Retuner (objects menu must be enabled), who is allowed, where f.i. on community lots, and such, especially if autonomous is enabled or only user directed.

Editing those values is fine, yes. The number denotes how many skill points they gain per Sim minute. Each skill has varying amounts of points required per level so you'll have to adjust to your liking.

@C-Dark I didn’t know you could give lifetime rewards to inactives thanks for the info!
And thank you @Chain-Reaction for the confirmation! I changed the value to 16 and it seems to be working quite well for me.
