At the risk of sound indelicate here, I believe Chain was asking what you might have done to get the baby out of the pregnant sim (induce birth), not how you got the baby into the sim (conception). But I could have been reading that wrong...

Normal birth I think. He notified me that the birth was imminent and I sent him to the hospital. However now I have tried with the mods installed and everything works. Except that I have the same face as the "primary" sim for all the other sims in the settings, and it only shows me the "primary" sim skills and friendships for everyone else.

That's an annoying game glitch that can usually be solved by doing a Save As (change the file name just in case something else is wrong), quitting all the way to the desktop or Origin if relevant, and loading again.

Glad to hear those two cleared up some of the issues. If the stuck UI issue doesn't resolve, please check for any script error files if they are being generated in your documents folder when you attempt to switch Sims and provide them here.
