Another Blacklist question

Post by LisaDKG » March 5th, 2020, 7:18 pm

I am in the unfortunate position of having had to redownload and rebuild my game after major hard drive trouble. This just took time and I am back in the running with all my mods and worlds in place. The bigger problem is that I don't remember how to create a blacklist using the invalid parts and tuning files for Dresser and MC. Playing the game with a black list in place is invaluable to me and I'm desperate for help! I have tried reading all the FAQs and documentations and links and can't seem to get it to work.
This is how my memory is serving me as to how I created it in the first place - placing both the invalid and tuning packages for both Dresser and MC in my mods folder then just going into CAS, right clicking on every thumbnail I didn't want for all the ages, turning on 'Use Blacklist' in Dresser and miraculously those unwanted items stopped appearing for me. I must be missing some vital details because when I do go into CAS and right click on a thumbnail a blacklist popup IS generated (and I do have blacklist usage enabled in Dresser), but my choices never seem to get saved. I save my game and quit but the next time I re-enter CAS every item is still displayed. What am I doing wrong? Sorry in advance for my spotty memory and lack of know-how!

It's here but it looks like it failed to convert correctly. Part one ended up here and part two here while part 3 is on that page. Tutorials were hard hit because they were more complex than converting plain text containing images and code. 99% of the images have been fixed, the code is still being worked on. And obviously some of them need to be merged back together. Overall nothing has been lost, just needs polishing up.

An easy way to find things here is to convert the + signs in old links to - signs.

when you right click a log is generated with the code you can add to the invalid parts package, you need S3pe.
Blacklisting via ctrl + right click is limited
see this guide (look down for blacklist manual)

Thank you for responding! But while I have become very familiar with that specific link to Blacklisting, it didn't help at all, or at least it wasn't the process I followed in the first place. Finally I re-searched Chatterbox (which I thought I had thoroughly done) and found someone else linking to the original instructions I must have followed, on the Way Back archive. Not sure if its allowed but the link is below:
https://web.archive.org/web/20170915225 ... e+Easy+Way
This is exactly what I was looking for but I couldn't find it anywhere on the current site. I know it's been a huge amount of work migrating everything to the new site but I'm not sure why the link to this specific tutorial has been lost? I found it immensely helpful for my purposes.
