66 cars removed, this is normal ?

Post by webamirov » February 23rd, 2020, 8:30 pm

Hello, I installed the mod yesterday. I started playing in the metropolis, after a couple of gaming days I got a notification that 66 cars were removed in the city. I’m guessing, is that okay? Maybe it's better to disable the mod?

66 cars removed, this is normal ?

I think this is caused by overwatch and it should help speed up your game by removing unwanted vehicles and turning off TVs/stereos. This is okay (I believe)...perhaps even good. If it was caused by Errortrap that might be different.

By deafult, inactive sims in town are issued free, cheap cars when they need to get around but they do not own or cannot find their own cars. The free ones are then routinely abandoned, off the map or otherwise, and become game data file clutter. Overwatch cleans up unowned abandoned vehicles on a nightly bases -- there can be other sources such as celebrity limo and snack/ice cream truck overspawnage, but the free issuances are the most common culprit. Many players see thousands nightly, so 66 may sound alarming but it's not really that many unless they are allowed to accumulate further.

NRaas Traffic can be used to stop the free cheap cars in the first place and force these sims to use taxis or other forms of transport when required. Unless playing an island world where boats are more frequently involved, most players see the Overwatch nightly cleanup then reduced to almost nothing.

webamirov - Who? How in the world am I expected to remember every player I've ever met on various forums... Nah, just kidding and it was only a couple of days ago. Glad you found your way over here and I hope your game is running better now than the last save was before it melted down (and before it had mods in play). :)
