Changing sim's reputation: possible with MC?

Post by kittykatmeow10 » February 9th, 2020, 5:56 pm

Hey there,
I have a promiscuous sim who has a rather high Woohoo skill level (courtesy of Woohooer, of course). They have a going steady relationship with another sim, as well as a high celebrity star level (with SP, often fluctuates between 4 and 5). I made the foolish mistake of woohooing with someone else while on a public lot (specifically, oasis landing's community center) with default jealousy intact and now they have the reputation of Cheater.

I would like this little mistake to theorhetically vanish so my sim can reattain the slight mood boosting "faithful" moodlet. Is there any way to alter romantic reputation without getting the Clean Slate lifetime reward, whether it be through MC, SP, or Woohooer? I've browsed the menus but I haven't found any obvious solution.

And yes, I know I could use MC to give my sim the "faithful" moodlet permanently, but I just want to make it so they are no longer labeled as "cheater" on the scrapbook screen or have their their chances of further romantic advances with others hindered. Idk if altering the sim's caste via SP does anything to combat this. Thanks in advance.

They could still have gotten that reputation even with jealousy disabled if an RI had been formed. There's no way to change it via MC, SP or Woohooer.
And despite belief the reputation system doesn't affect active sims too much unless you really go overboard having your sim woohoo every sim in town.
You can use the LTR Clean Slate to reset the reputation but it will also wipe out all current romantic relationships.

I wouldn't know about it keeping ex-spouses as my sim never marries and just plays around with his neighbors wives

Go back to a save before your sim cheated and don't cheat if in a relationship. That is kind of the point of the faithful moodlet.

On the other hand, with the right LTR's and skill challenges finished, a cheater reputation is absolutely no hindrance to relationships. You can even bypass all that pesky "get to know" or "flirt" phase.

I have a similar issue to this. My female sim started as a young adult, saved her money, went to university world and get her degree. She had a couple flirts and one night stands in that town, got a naughty reputation but not cheater.

Fast forward to now, she's top of her job, but still single. It lists her two RI's from college in her relationships, and sometimes they come visit the town as tourists.

She found a genie's lamp, and I figure ok, I can't find a townie for her to date, so I'll have her date the genie. She made one wish for money, and then flirted with the genie and went to bed with him. A few days later, she made a second wish for happiness, and flirted with the genie and went to bed with him. For the third wish, as soon as he popped out of the lamp, he suddenly got angry with her, accused her of cheating, and their relationship went to almost zero. Now she has a cheater reputation. She never did anything romantic to anyone else while she was with the genie, so what gives? I wanted to free the genie for her third wish and have them get married, but he wont even talk to her now.

Reputations are how other sims see the sim in question and give them something to gossip about. No one ever said they were meant to be based in reality or on logic. And KevinL5275, it's probably better to have found out that your sim's genie is a weirdo or perhaps a bit unbalanced now rather than after the wedding that likely wasn't going to happen. :)

Well, this genie must have a split personality, but when I loaded today, he sent my sim a gift, and a love letter, so I summoned him, and he immediately took my sim to bed. I guess he was just having a bad day. :D
