Got a question regarding a thought

Post by wolff7676 » December 19th, 2019, 4:05 pm

Ok, so I was wondering if one-day fertility could be added as a module for someone who doesn't like every day ovulation. Don't have to be anything fancy just something that allows days of ovulation and other days not. I like KW for that reason but I do love the Woohooer even more and I am having to choose KW just for that reason just to have that feature. If it wasn't for that one small part I would definitely put the whoohooer back in but not sure how many others like the idea of that feature or what.

Hm, I personally really don't care and do not need it, lol.
I use Storyprogression for allowing or disallowing type of sims pregnancy.
Means,
my Student YA are not allowed
my YA after University are allowed
and A are not - unless I use MC partner polinate if I need some more babies.
elders are not.
With SP I also set the number of allowed babies autonomously, which I set to 1, I mainly controll my town population.

And sometimes I use Debugenabler to shorten the left hours of pregnancy, birth is at 72.

Instead of telling the newer member that we don't care and don't need fertility cycles, sorry but that is not coming across as an overly friendly response, perhaps we could impose upon wolff7676 to tell us how this works using that other mod (the odds are that at least one feature of KW in there someplace must work correctly!) and why it is such an important feature for them to have. We might learn something, or at least learn of a different way of looking at things. :)

Thank you for the reason I like it is for realism, I am not one that controls my sims perse. I don't like turning off no kids for this one and not for that one and then later turning them back on. I like having the idea of having small cycles of where a sim can become pregnant and well if you miss that cycle oops especially if really trying to become pregnant. An example I had a sim who was young she married him even though he was almost elder she loved him. She knew he had a short amount of time to become pregnant and patiently waiting in hoping she could have a child with him. In this case, the way its set up so easy she gets in bed no pregnancy does it again bam pregnant, personally I like the challenge. Of course, each story is different, the main thing is I could care less about animations and I really wish there was that feature just using the woohoo option. Again why I mentioned module if possible so everyone has a choice because everyone likes to play differently. And I know many like having that option as well, some like animations and some don't. I play sims 4 as well and even with Stacie's mods she brought that option in that works with woohoo without having to use wicked whims and many like it. It just would be nice to have it without have the animations. I usually play one family rarely do I fully control them either I let them live and role play with their traits unless doing a story. In the end he ended up dying before she could become pregnant, she did remarry eventually and had a son but he had no children to carry on his name.

What are the functionality details of this in KW? What settings does it have pertaining to this? Is there a way you think it could be done better?

The details are fine in it, it has immature cycle, follicular, ovulatory and luteal stages. But with it also has sperm lifetime and sperm fertilization you set up how long those times last. Honestly, I don't think there is anything she could have done better really other then I wish it worked with the whoohooer since I absolutely love it. But again I like playing realism and letting go of the whoohooer just to have that small feature well wasn't an easy decision by any means. I wouldn't even go as far saying it needs all that though just a fertile moment where hopefully it can adjust by age of not where you can set it rotates cycles from long, med, or short so user can decide, Like me, I play long life spans so I would want cycles that happen even less often than someone who plays shorter life spans.

I will note to look into what is possible to add to Woohooer in terms of fertility in the future... of course with settings for those who aren't interested.
