Stuck Aging Check and the Immortal LTR

Post by Turjan » November 29th, 2019, 12:39 pm

I have a household that consists of two vampires with the "Immortal" LTR directly after they had taken and"Young Again" potions (from the chemistry station). It's the same household with the bugged butler, who's still around. The vampires have been in this state for about 50 days or so now. I'm not 100% sure whether it's SP or one of the other mods, like Overwatch, but upon returning from a vacation, I got a bunch of errors thrown (27 I think), and then I got informed about "stuck aging checks" on these two vampires, and the next few seconds both of them got aged up to the next category (Adult), which in this case was a jump from 273 days to 498. Thanks a bunch to whatever mod did this.

Now, reverting this is only a pain as I cannot access CAS in SV without the game not being able to save anymore, and I have for the moment attempted to just disable aging on the household itself (via the SP lot option). Is that "Immortal" LTR flaky, and is there anything else I can try to do about preventing this from happening again?

As an aside, I find it weird how the LTR treats that disabling, if MC is showing correct information here:

I refer to that large negative number for "Days to Transition".

Offhand I think Chain (and maybe some of the rest of us?) might want to see a few of those 27 errors thrown upon re-entry from travel, if the script logs are still available.

I was looking through the error logs, but there was nothing of interest. It was all about destroyed items, removed pet descriptions (I had set pets to 0 sometime before the sims went on vacation), removed personal records from two removed homeless people, and some bogus inventory items (hover cars).

There's nothing helpful in the logs at all, as far as I can see, and I also looked at the older ones. Unfortunately, the flood of error logs in Shang Simla has overwritten any older SV ones. The sims who had the issue were Gobias Koffi and Jamie (Jolina) Koffi, who are not mentioned in any logs.

Edit: Sorry, the "spoiler" doesn't seem to work for me.

I've seen that large Days to Transition number before. Would you by any chance be using one of these mods?

Also did these vampires already have the Immortal LTR before they took the Young Again potions? They shouldn't take those if they already had the LTR they should take them before being given the LTR.
The same thing can happen if you give a sim the Age Freeze potion and then the Young Again potion after.

I didn't use that mod, no, but you may be onto something. I was checking my old pics, and they already had the sparkle as elders. That piece of information in my first post seems to be wrong then. Gobias had a bad track record of taking care of his basic needs, like staying out of the sun, and had already died twice, which probably led to that sequence.

My founder - not a vampire - had used "Young Again" and "Age Freeze" potions in that order and has been okay so far for much longer times. Hmm. Maybe I remove the LTR, let them drink the potions again and give them the LTR again afterwards, probably with a day between removal and the rest to let it go through the system.

The reason why I posted that image, btw., was the "days to transition" line, which looks different from the sim who used the age freeze potion, without that number that looks like some kind of overflow issue. Of course, that may just be a display thing without any actual difference beyond how it's shown.

Edit: Just to make clear why I posted this here: This age adjustment happened at the same time Gobias was being assigned as the Lestat leader. I had just moved them out of the "Rotations" caste. during the last time SV was played.

So you're saying it's possible they didn't have the LTR when the stuck aging code ran to fix what in that case would be an accurate case?

EA returns the max value of a float when they have that LTR. It is indeed a display thing only.

No, I was just thinking about a solution on how to prevent this from happening again, if giving the LTR to them before they took the Young Again potion presents an issue. Both definitely had the LTR and still have it (I checked), and this for at least 50 days or so. They took the Young Again potion also a long time ago. All was fine during that period. What had changed during the last time I played the city was that I had put them into my "Semiprotected" caste (only moving houses and leaving the household prohibited) and moved them out of my "Rotations" caste (in that order, in case it matters). Neither caste has aging disallowed. SP now ran the "stuck aging" check on them and moved on to make them part of the personalities circus (the Lestat in this case).

Their household is a bit buggy. They have a butler who lived there all the time when the house was unoccupied and not owned by anyone, is resistant to resets and cannot be fired or canceled. He even survived bulldozing the lot and replacing the house by a different one from "Edit Town". Not sure who pays for him. Jamie's motorbike also just bugged out in a reset-resistant way (I had to move it to the inventory via Debug Enabler and sell it via MC, as it wasn't touchable). I only mention it because none of their vehicles use the parking spaces on the lot.

Thanks for clearing that up.
