When you create pets in TS3 you can create them as their own 'household' without any (adult) sims in it, and then merge them with any existing household as a way to move them in.
I have a couple of pets in my household that I have spend a LONG time to max all their skills AND fulfill all of their challenges, but my sim is currently moving some place where she can't keep them. To not waste all my work I wish to move the pets out in pairs (2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 horses) in 3 pet-only households like they were created, so I have a backup from which I can add them back to her household if and when I want without loss of skills.
NRaas Mover says it is able to split households into households without the necessity of an adult sim as a head of the household, but it doesn't seem to work for my pets. Is there a way I can still get this to work? Something I am missing? Thanks for your help!

That was worth a try. I could succesfully add my cats to that empty household, but when I went to edit town to export them as a cat-household they were gone completely. Good thing I saved first. As to adding them to the household of another sim, I really want to export a cat-only household so that is not an option to me. Are there perhaps other things I could try?

Has this maybe to do that you need pet beds and stuff in the house?

I'm not sure. If you want to place a CAS created pets-only household you can only pick lots with sims in them. Maybe the same limitation goes here. However that would defeat my purpose, as I really need just the pets as a backup.

hm, another suggestion, if you use Debugenabler on an empty house, look for create a sim and do this (f.i. an adult) then let the pets move in and then kick the sim out so he/she is homeless. Its just a guess.
But if you bring the pet to CAS and save each single by single to library, they will keep their skills (it should be like this with Sims, right?), if you place them again you can use MC to repaire the relations.

So basically if you take a sim to CAS and save them from there it retains all of their skills / skill challenge data? I mean, relationships are easy enough to put back to where they were with NRaas Cheats but challenges are not. And those Challenges took me weeks and weeks of in-game time, so they are the most important to keep!

Oh, wait. I completely missed something. When you don't select a household it says Move To Clipboard and that works out of the box. I'm stupid. Never mind this topic....
