how can i know which my cc package files belong which category?

how can i know which my cc package files belong which category? I want to categorize them according to their category before merging. for example to know decor objects which go into laundry category in game

Open the package files with S3PE and highlight the OBJD resource, then scroll down on the right-hand pane (almost to the bottom) where you should see the following lines that replicate the in-game categories.
RoomCategoryFlags:
FunctionCategoryFlags:
FunctionSubCategoryFlags:
RoomSubCategoryFlags:

Here's a tutorial at Mod the Sims with more information. Scroll down to the Recategorizing section if you want to actually edit the categories.

There's probably an easier way to do this using S3OC but I'm not very familiar with that program I'm afraid. Anyway, I hope the above information helps! :-)
