Hello
One of the sims I'm playing with has the lifetime aspiration of becoming a Martial Arts Master. He's maxed out his martial arts skill, and he also needs to spar with other sims.
I've read that the careers mod allows for that to happen in the homeworld. I've used the computer to request a new spar opponent, but every time he gets a message saying that there are none available.
What should I do? Are there more steps required, like doing something with Story Progression?
Thanks

Are there other residents in your city with high levels in the Martial Arts skill? If not, it could explain why your sim is not getting any opponent.
I have installed the "Skills" module of StoryProgression and installed one of the Academy lots over at TSR in my homeworld. After that, I noticed that a lot of my townies with the "athletic" trait were attracted to the Academy autonomously and started gaining the martial arts skill up to level 5 on their own!
This might give your sim some legitimate competition in town.

Thanks for your advice. I added some martial arts training objects to community lots, and I also cheated to give random skill level in martial arts to some townies, and it worked!MissPatTS3 wrote: ↑May 24th, 2019, 6:25 pmAre there other residents in your city with high levels in the Martial Arts skill? I have also made some attempts to participate in a local tournament. I couldn't use the the "Request New Spar Opponent" properly, it would cancel out before it actually did something. But after finding this topic I also downloaded a (tiny) Academy and placed it in my world. Thereafter I could properly request a spar opponent (I had already placed some sims with Martial Arts skill) and call them over to my house. However, the FAQ tells us to use the "Challenge To a Local Ranked Sparring Match" interaction, and that one doesn't show up anywhere. Does any of you know if I am looking in the wrong place for it? Is it buried in some category I failed to look at? Thanks a lot!

It should be on the Sim that is your new opponent.AlHollandiyah wrote: ↑November 7th, 2019, 9:35 amHowever, the FAQ tells us to use the "Challenge To a Local Ranked Sparring Match" interaction, and that one doesn't show up anywhere.

It only shows the games default Challenge To Ranked Sparring Match, being greyed out because we aren't in Shang Simla. It doesn't show the 'Local' variety anywhere in the pie menu on the opponent.

Are you sure the Sim in question is your new opponent? It's safe to assume you have Careers installed I guess since you were rolling one.AlHollandiyah wrote: ↑November 7th, 2019, 1:02 pmIt only shows the games default Challenge To Ranked Sparring Match, being greyed out because we aren't in Shang Simla. I've used this mod for years and had no idea this was a feature.
I could slap myself right about now.

I am 100% positive, not only did the option to challenge them come up (be it greyed out), but when I tried to call opponent it said "X is already on the lot", X being the name of the sim I was clicking, looking for the local option. I have both Career and Career School running, besides about half of the other Nraas mods.Chain_Reaction wrote: ↑November 8th, 2019, 9:23 amAre you sure the Sim in question is your new opponent?
