I'm on my second generation in this one game I'm playing, and one of my sims started glitching in a really weird way yesterday. If she was the active sim, and I tried to click on her, the game would freeze for a second and then I'd get a notification of a script error about a different sim. This happened a few times. When she woke up the following sim morning, I did the ol' resetsim on her, and it seemed to fix the problem. Fast forward to that sim night (or reality's this afternoon), when she came home and changed for bed, and it started happening again. Using resetsim on her isn't fixing it. I tried resetsim on the one who the script errors were about, but that didn't fix it either.
She's in the singing career from Showtime, on level 4. The sim who keeps throwing the script errors when I click on her was the proprietor of the first venue she ever auditioned to perform at. He was no longer the proprietor of that venue when the script errors started. When they ended, yet another sim was the proprietor of that venue. I didn't even realize that the script error sim was still in the game. In fact, when I used MC to find him (MC > Sim > Focus), the game said he didn't exist.
Incidentally, I did a search for this error, and it seems a few other folks have had it. The advice they've all gotten was "I dunno, resetsim?" and when resetsim didn't work, they all said it seemed to resolve itself and then come back. I don't know how to read the script error files to know if there's a solution to this weird glitch hidden in any of them. How do I read them?

Are you using the standard EA cheat "resetsim"? If so, try a Master Controller > Advanced > Reset Sim. If that doesn't help, try resetting the whole town by clicking on City Hall > NRaas > Master Controller > Town > Reset Everything.
Drag the ScriptError files directly into the "Quick Reply" box here when you respond and someone will read them for you.

Yes, we really do have to be able to read the contents of the script errors one way or another in order to be able to advise further, even if you have to zip them together, upload to a third party hosting site, and provide a link. But if you can, do try the drag the single xml file into the message text editor trick first. Otherwise, I am sure without really meaning to, you are saying that your stomach hurts or that your car is making a funny noise, what's wrong (not enough information to tell yet).
EA's resetsim doesn't really do very much, it may get sims out of impossible physical locations and transport them home but that's about it. MC resets will run deeper and as Sarah_Sims says are what should be tried first on the two sims then on the town to see if that helps clear things.

I tried the MC resetsim, and it didn't work. Here's the script error:
Huh. It looks like it didn't attach. Trying again.
Sigh. Third party hosting, here we go: http://www.mediafire.com/file/wco16dt2z ... 7.zip/file

This doesn't look serious, at least at first glance, but it does need to be fixed. You have a deceased elder in your game named Thomas Cornell whose autonomy is broken. That's why you couldn't Focus on him, unless his ghost were roaming around at the time, he is not among the living to be focused upon. Is this the former proprietor or is that someone else?
If you don't have much of a real connection to or affection for this sim, I would suggest getting rid of him using MC's Total Annihilation, filter to Type of Sim > Dead or the current Homeworld, anything to bring his name up on the filtered list. If it is required to keep this sim in the game, I suppose we have to start by finding out where would his remains are located or possibly were they deleted improperly -- meaning an urn or gravestone.

So... I used Total Annihilation, because, yes, this was the proprietor, and no, I don't really care about him. It worked in that trying to click on that sim when she's active no longer causes that weird error, but there's still no pie menu. The game seems to freeze for a moment, like it's thinking, but then it just gives up. I tried MC's Reset Sim again because why not, but that didn't fix it. Is there any way I could try to generate a script error for the active sim and see if there's info in there?

Hmm. Yes, that would be what Selector is supposed to do if you were to add it to your mod collection. It's automatic though, so if you could let's see if adding that generates any errors when clicking on the sim whether active or inactive.

Okay, I'm downloading Selector. Incidentally, the problem seems to end at 8am sim-time, and then it doesn't start again until she wakes up the following morning.
