My sims were just minding their own business, going about their daily lives, when ErrorTrap suddenly started popping up a cavalcade of "Script Error" notifications. When they didn't stop, I tried Reset Everything. They didn't stop, and also the space where it shows your active family's Simoleons blanked out. Then I quit without saving.
All I can gather from the log (https://pastebin.com/ccaNnwn1) is that it had something to do with the social worker trying and failing to take a kid (my active household has no children.) My last save was over a Sim-day ago, so I'd still have time to ward off the social worker situation if I could tell which household it was... but more importantly, is this a sign that the save in general is screwed?

I've seen this before but haven't been able to pinpoint what triggers it. It's not corruption, most likely a timing issue. It could happen if you switch households right when the social worker check was running. Have you recently switched households? Since you're running SP, it wouldn't be related to anyone dying. Most likely it's motives. I'd revert the save and max the motives for the entire town and see if it reoccurs.

We will need our developer to examine that log and tell us what the error means, yes it is on the child care social worker scenario. This may be one of the rare instances where you have to remove ErrorTrap temporarily to get past the errors, then put the mod back again but I would recommend waiting for his input first.
In the future, however you do share script logs with us, if you could please try to share the entire file rather than pasted in contents. They are very difficult to read that way due to lack of formatting.

I think the social worker broke
Now that I think about it, what might have caused the social worker scenario to fire in the first place? I thought inactives' needs were generally taken care of. Is there a way (via MC demographics or something) to quickly track down which families are at risk?

On the MC question, not that I'm aware of. And yes, the scenario even being triggered for an inactive household is unusual for the reasons you state unless you have left an inactive household living on a lot outside with no shelter, beds (cribs), or refrigerator or there is a household where there is no one left old enough to be the head of it -- for example, a household of one elder and one toddler, but the elder dies and there doesn't seem to be anyone suitable in town like extended relatives or friends of the family to take the toddler in before the death sequence finishes.
That's why I was asking if Chain_Reaction could take a look when he gets a chance to help explain what might be happening here.

I can definitely check whether there's any elders-with-kids situations going on- I haven't been paying much attention to what the EA-made inactives are up to, so it's possible.
Kind of nervous to start playing this hood again until I know whether it's likely to be corrupt though. Guess I'd better read up on how to use Porter just in case.

I've seen this before but haven't been able to pinpoint what triggers it. It's not corruption, most likely a timing issue. It could happen if you switch households right when the social worker check was running. Have you recently switched households? Since you're running SP, it wouldn't be related to anyone dying. Most likely it's motives. I'd revert the save and max the motives for the entire town and see if it reoccurs.

I haven't switched households at all in this save, which makes it even odder, but I maxed motives at the start of the day and made it through without a repeat of the error. Thanks!
