Adjusting Total Earned Selling Nectar Through DebugEnabler

Post by chris_d1985 » January 18th, 2019, 7:53 pm

Hi there,

I have a sim that is currently in the nectar making profession and I would like to reset his total earned to 0 and restart the career from scratch. I do know how to reset the career level, but the money earned/XP has me stuck.

I think this may in fact be tied to skills, but I found through DebugEnabler that I could adjust the XP (in this case money earned selling). Thought that might be the way to go about it, but you cannot enter a negative value in the XP field.
Any ideas on how I could reset his total earned without resetting the sim entirely?

Hi there. Am not in a position to test this right now, sorry. But are you certain that removing the sim from the career, then using MC to remove the historical career as well, before having him join up again at Level 1 or so, doesn't also clear the money earned metric?

Tried it out and it didn't clear out the "total earned".
What I have been able to determine is that the total earned lines up to the total earned shown in the skill journal, so I think it's a skills statistic and not a career statistic.

I tried to set skill level to 0 and then add it back, but the statistics were still the same. Can you think of an equivalent to removing historical careers, but is instead tied to skill statistics? I have been searching through, but haven't had much luck.

The metric may very well not be reachable then, at least not without remaking the sim. We'll have to see if other players here have further ideas.

What about setting the skill level to -1?

That's worked for me on the Rebel Influence and Nerd Influence skills, allowing previously inactive Sims who didn't get the microphone, street art kit, and/or video game console for free to get them when they reached the appropriate level again.
