Missing sims. Remember, mourn (or not yet?)
sittingbear, I think I found what you found. It was difficult. But, nevertheless, I was very upset that the mod removed the sims without my knowledge. I would have had a stroke if my favorite firefighter, whom I love as a son, had gone missing. Maybe it would be better if such actions were displayed in the message? And best of all if the screen was a message where the expected decision from the player: to execute someone or pardon.

If you want to avoid this in the future you can use MC > Addsim to add the npc to a lot making them residents. SP will prevent them from romancing which may be a good thing as they lack a valid sim description though I have relaxed the SP restrictions in the past with no issues. One thing to note though is they do not retire on their own and do not get a pension automatically.

Psy - The problem there is that a Service Sim cannot be a resident. That method works with Role Sims, but on those with the Service designation they will lose their Service assignments immediately upon gaining world resident status. So the maid, for a different example, cannot be a resident and a maid at the same time.
I've developed some affection for Service Sim NPCs in the past. The only way I've been able to play through that is to make them residents as Psy says but then give them something else to do. The Service firefighter, for example, can become a resident sim with the Ambitions firefighter career. Or some other such job to do or role to perform that doesn't strictly require homelessness.
