After checking my game this morning they no longer show as retired, it shows the new career i gave them instead. Retired is still listed as an old career but hopefully that is not a problem, Thanks for the help.

I would still use Master Controller to End the Pension as that could become a problem later namely when she gets old enough to retire she would get the pension from the Retired Career which is 0 and she would never be able to support herself
Ending the pension will completely or it should remove the Retired Career as an old career

I can not find End Pension on any of the affected Sims. I even looked at city hall and the only options i had was the 2 in game elders.

Hopefully everything will be fine then you can try click on the affected sims and use MC>Intermediate>Remove Quit Careers
If nothing shows with that on them then I wouldn't worry about it cause maybe ET cleaned it up

Your welcome like I had said there's no need to worry about residents getting assigned to a Role job as long as Register has Allow Resident Assignment set to false
but if you ever do want residents say in a different town like Sunset Valley to do Role jobs best to remove Register so that SP can still progress them cause as you've already seen assigning residents to Role jobs with both SP and Register in has some unwanted results

@namaradus - That might be good as an experiment for some players. But many of them (admittedly not all) learn that Register is actually required in their games to prevent the evental overspawnage and mishandling of role assignments to the point where their game turns into mush. Becomes a matter of trade-offs and what one deems as acceptable.

I like having a few, just a small number, of role sims as residents. But yes, they don't progress well if it all and it's not extremely satisfying to play around them as they have such impossible work routines. I don't intend to keep such residents in those slots permanently.

I never really had much of a problem in towns with a few Role objects like SV but Bridgeport never go without Register there.
I do use Register in all my games these days and you can get SP to progress them but it takes alot of tweaking in the Role Caste to make it workable for YA's and Adult's
But not as much tweaking for Elders who I mainly use once I get enough of them odd thing is they seem to like doing it
