Many script errors on the UL coffee bar

Post by Devalaous » September 12th, 2014, 6:49 am

These errors drove me to actually register here and post these bugs, but anyway:

Using this new test version of Register, any world I play that has a coffee bar from University Life, errors out nonstop. Nobody can be assigned to it, and my game hiccups nonstop, generating about 6 errors each time. I uploaded a pile of logs from my last game in Isla Paradiso. Hopefully they uploaded right. This site is confusing to navigate..

Hi there and welcome to Nraas,

Yes your errors have been received. These submitted errors are known to the coder and will try to fix as soon as time allows it, there are no estimated time to be given.

These mods in testing are placed to weed out any errors, before the developer can announce that these mod is stable and can be moved to the stable enviroment and open for the general public; <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Register">h ... egister</a>
Testing is by choice.

You have 2 choices for now:
1. if you like the <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Register+Testing">revision made in this V80 version</a>, disable the role assignment on the Coffee Bar in University Life, till a correction has been set in place.
2. revert back to <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Register">Register Stable version V79</a>

For your navigation issue, yes we are aware that it can be difficult sometimes to find a some things. Though keep in mind that this is a wiki, not a regular site with its own forum board. In <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Quicklinks">Quicklinks</a> left side of the menu, we have tried to make things more easier to approach.

Yeah, I have things figured out already mostly. Most of the confusion came from registering, then having to wait to have my account accepted here. I have reverted to V79. I did try disabling assignment, the errors continued. There was only one coffee bar in all of Moonlight Falls, the save I was playing on.

Well its a global site and some organizers are still a sleep and others are at work at this time of the day (such as I), NRaas is composed of volunteers. And you have to admit, it didn't took that long till your membership got approved (within 30 min), although we have up to 24 hours to do so.

Come to think of it I removed the consignment register that gave me such errors. But I think its more related to opening hours/closing hours of certain Venue's, where it error'd Local Wateringhole (or something like that) on mine.

The one in Moonlight Falls was inside Varg's Tavern, ie, Supernatural Hangout, on Isla Paradiso I had one in a Java Hut, another in a Dive Bar. Although the error log probably tells this anyway :p

Many if not all of us using the test version of Register are getting these errors. I found that manually assigning a role sim to an unassigned coffee bar seemed to silence the errors on mine, but I had to exit my game not long afterwards due a totally unrelated issue so may not have even given the new role sim enough time to get to her station. As J4Ks said, the developer already knows what the problem is here and what needs to be fixed.

But I did notice that you seem to be one version behind on ErrorTrap. :)

Well this is awkward. I looked at the newest version and I know I did download that, because I remember those changes. I guess I accidentally deleted it before placing it in the mod folder.

As igazor noted, manually assigning a sim to the object erroring should sort it. I'll have a fix available ASAP though :)
