Testing skating

Post by Ayradyss » September 10th, 2014, 9:21 pm

I'm working on testing the occult skating, as you said in the Chatterbox topic you'd gotten mixed results from testers so far.

Right now, I've tested it with a mermaid who maxxed out her skating skill back when she was still human. (MasterController shows she has a skating skill of 6.) It mostly doesn't work. It did allow me to use "Skate Backward" when clicking on the Sim herself, but no other options like spins or such, which should be available at her skill level.

I've yet to try it out with other supernaturals.

Hmm. I'm not sure Mermaids would be included since they probably were after Twallan started work on that feature. Let me know if you get a chance to test other supernaturals. :)

Some initial testing with a Vampire show that the animations appear to be working. My vampire does the regular skating animations rather than the vampire blur. She started off slow and wobbly, levelled up, got less wobbly, levelled up, got faster/smoother, levelled up, got the message that she could now do spins.

The interactions, however, don't seem to be working. "Skate Backward" and "Spin" were shown when I clicked on the rink, but greyed-out. That seemed fine initially, as she didn't have enough skill. But neither one of them ever became unlocked. Actually, the "Spin" option disappeared when I received the message that she could do spins. So there still look to be some issues with the interactions unlocking as skill level goes up. It's definitely progress though. :-)

Ah yes, I see he didn't replace those. That's not hard to fix. Thanks for testing! :)
