Problem w/Group Science Project
Hi, I'm having an awful time w/this tonight. It seems as though, no matter how carefully I count and watch the bar and make sure it is exact and correct, I can't seem to get a white beam. Is there any way to reset this or fix it or whatever?

I have done this a long time ago. Your sim has to be at level 10 in science and so do the ones that try this with your sim. Once you get all three colours lit up, it becomes the while beam. You can reset the machine with DE>Object>Reset. That's how I reset it anyways. Maybe someone else can give you more help.
She is lev 10 in science, but still rarely got the white beam. I tried it w/3 sims last night, 2 of whom do not have much of any science skill at all and I got the white beam both times! I asked here b/c this is the first time this has happened. I've always gotten the white beam w/one sim when I carefully count. Clearing all the cache files didn't work either. It also didn't work to buy a new one (I have a mod for the buyable GSP). The only other thing I can think of is that I've played this hood for a little while now and even though I cleared the world cache, I may still have to go to a new hood.

I just tested it out w/a single sim in a different world and got the white beam 2 times in a row. There are other things that are leading me to the conclusion that this world is beginning to be corrupted though. My firefighter sim who is in the same family, got an earthquake emergency and when he got there, instead of taking care of the disaster as I directed, he teleported a short distance off the property underground "swimming." I had to reset him twice during that event to get him to complete the job (once on another lot as well).
On another seemingly unrelated issue, but I think *might* be related, have you ever had a singer catch fire whether indoors or out? Mine caught fire while at the park and died b/c there was no water available to extinguish herself. If this is a common occurrence in this career, then oh well. If not, then it also may be another sign of the corruption of the hood.
