Hello everyone - I hope this finds you well.
I have a question spawned by littlelambsy's post about "Getting a World Active". In that post, it alludes to GoHere pushing Inactives to community lots. I have always used Shimrod's mod for this function, but if GoHere (or SP), does the same thing, then maybe I don't need Shimrod's mod.
My question is - is there a difference between these two? Is one better than the other for getting Inactives to visit community lots? Honestly, I could use a little LESS pushing to community lots, as no one ever seems to be home lol.
Thanks in advance!

The two mods do entirely different things and in different ways, even if one of the players' goals is just to get community lots more populated. GoHere is an injection mod that alters/replaces world lot routing among many other things (inactive run daycare, now amazingly flexible door locking among others). Prior beta testing versions, possibly the former release versions for some players, along the way were throttling the inactive sim pushes out to community lots that they already might have "wanted" to go to based on their traits, time of day, the nature of the lots, etc. This has been fixed and the fix is in the fully released v44 of the mod. That is what the prior thread was about.
Shimrod's mod grabs some sims with nothing to do and shoves them over to community lots more randomly, from how I have heard it described. For some it works well, for others it feels too artificial or might cause other issues.
The two should not conflict if they are both in play, at least I don't think they should. But if one wants or want to try GoHere anyway, I would suggest trying it out alone, meaning without Shimrod's mod, to see how they like it in the worlds they are playing and reserve Shimrod's mod for something else to try only if needed, while watching for potential issues and script errors along the way.

No, Shimrod has two similar mods. The one mentioned above, Service Sims Out On The Town.

Alright, I just wanted to update in case anyone else had a similar question.
I removed Shimrod's mod, and while there is a small drop in inactives visiting other lots, it's not huge. The lots are still being visited, popular hangouts still get plenty of visitors, etc. More visitors arrive if your active sim visits the lot. The biggest difference was that with Shimrod's mod, almost no one stayed home. With just GoHere, it's fairly common to see some sims staying at home, usually with their babies/toddlers.
I believe this has the side effect of sending less babies/toddlers to the daycare if your neighborhood is set up this way.
Hopes this helps!
