Not sure what happened here. My card is GeForce GT 970 and a message popped up the graphics card is not recognized and I am unable to change the settings so the game will recognize it.
I have not made any changes to system settings and have auto updates from NVIDIA and Windows (Win7) off. FPS is fine and everything runs well.
I do not have GeForce Experience installed. I use the Inspector though and the profile settings are intact. Also ran CCleaner and MWB. No abnormalities identified.
I went into the graphicscards.sgr file in the game bin and replaced only the 020fd1 "GeForce GT 650" with 0x13c2, ran the game saved then quit and the device config log file still shows NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 [Found: 0, Matched: 0]
I never had any problem updating the graphicscards.sgr file. I must be missing a step somewhere or perhaps I need to use something other than the (GT 650) 0x13c2??
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this?
Thanks in advance

Hi there, brappl. Two things come to mind.
One is that are you certain you are looking at the sgr files for the base game and not one of the EPs? It's the base game ones only that needs to be altered.
The other is...well, I don't know how or why this could have become undone all by itself if there were no graphics driver updates or game patches (heavens forbid) involved and I know of course that you don't use Origin so it cannot be a Repair Game triggering it. Could you send copies of your DeviceConfig.log and the GraphicsCards.sgr file up someplace where I can reach them and take a quick look?

Hi igazor. The file was in the base game folder. So we can rule that out.
I noticed something else just now when I went to put the .sgr file on Mediafire. I got a message the file was updated by another program. I checked MalewareBytes again and it quarantined a Trojan found in the CCleaner folder.
I am going to take a look at this a little more. In the meantime I would appreciate it if you would take a look at the files you requested.

Thanks very much.

I'm still scratching my head over this also. Just for the record so you don't think I'm seeing things here, LOL:
Here is the Report: Protection Event in Malewarebytes:
Threat: Trojan.Floxif - Type: File - Location: C:\programfiles\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe Action: Quarantined ID 5914
There are multiple threads on this in Google. Here is just one "common" example:

I know what I need to do here just wanted to run this info by you and anyone else who might have experienced this.

Flags went up when I looked into it in the link I posted above. I looked into it further and here are some key points:
Google article Sept 2017.
Piriform says it first detected a problem on September 12, when it noticed an unknown IP address receiving data from software found in recent versions of the software. After investigating further, it determined these versions were modified illicitly before their release to users.
Avast, the multinational cybersecurity firm that recently bought Piriform, says it believes the compromised software was installed on 2.27 million machines.
According to Avast, the malware attempts to transmit information like computer names, IP addresses, installed software, active running software, network adapter information and more, to a server located in the United States.
Piriform says users should update to CCleaner version 5.34 or higher.
More detail here: http://time.com/4946576/ccleaner-malware-hack/
I uninstalled, cleard the registry and have reinstalled version 5.36. Ran Malewarebytes again and no problems reported.
I suspect this might have surfaced due to compatibility with Win 10. I am on 7. I don't want to start a panic here but suggest keeping an eye on it. If it were any other program I would have just have uninstalled and found something else. CCleaner is an awesome tool so I'll give it a stay of execution
