Multiple rabbitholes of same type

Post by deesim » April 4th, 2017, 11:31 am

Thanks to Story Progression and Master Controller we can have multiple schools and assign them as primary/secondary schools and then direct the kids to whichever school we want (if we want full control).
How about the other types of rabbitholes, can we have multiple hospitals, business towers and science labs etc? I see we can make a business sim work at a different business building with 'Transfer Job Here'. Can that be done with the others successfully without any hiccups? And how about a City Hall? Perhaps its better to keep to just one, right?

Hi deesim - I've done that on pretty much all types of community lots except City Hall. For Sims with custom Career's I use Zerbu's Career mod to manually add the sim and then transfer to the added business/career type RH lot. I have not used Zerbu's for assigning schools and not sure if you actually do need Zerbu's mod for careers. Perhaps it's only needed for adding custom careers. I'm sure others will weigh in on that.

Hi bbrapp :) That's good to hear! I'm adding multiple business towers and in one of them I'm using Arsil's Custom Rabbithole doors for Missy Hissy's custom careers (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=549846) which seems to be working quite well, but I like variety so I want to try other things. I have used Zerbu's Career mod too, I like that for active sims, I do rotate households too. No, you don't need Zerbu's Career mod for careers, custom or otherwise.
I use it mostly for active sims when I want to see them work, but I rotate households, so when I don't play them they can do what they want :)

I've also been trying out new ways to play and rotate households and worlds. Ha, sometimes we have had some of our mods in for so long it's hard to remember which requires what, lol.

Haha, so true! I forget what some of them do and I have to keep the mod page open while I play so I know what I'm doing lol

I used the Rabbithole Rugs to create a mega-mall that duplicated all of the RH's (including City Hall). They all functioned exactly the same as the "regular" rabbitholes that were already in-town. I had no problems with their fucntionality, with the one cavat being that you had to pay attention to which RH your sims received jobs/opportunities for, because it was localized to that specific RH.

The duplicate City Hall functioned just fine, to include NRaas menu interactions.

Word to the wise though: DONT put all of the RHs on one lot unless you want 30+ sims camping out there 24/7 :D

To clarify, yes I ran the duplicate RHs at the same time as the original RHs in the same town (SV).

Well I have one 40x40 lot with 3 different buildings built on it with 3 business rabbithole rugs in them, and so far they work very well :)

Yep I plan to remake some RHs myself -- scaled waaaaayyyyy down from the original mega mall. It looks very cool, but it wreaks havoc on the game :(

Fortunately, using velocitygrass's BlueprintMaker mod, I can salvage the designs of the individual shops and just plunk them down 2-4 at a time on smaller lots -- which are easier to handle and place anyway. It just sux loosing that beautiful mega mall design I spent so much time working on :(

Oh yes, I forgot that Blueprint mod exists, that would save me having to keep taking screenshots from the ceiling of lots to try and replicate them :)
The rabbithole rugs are so much better, some of those rabbithole buildings are ridiculously large for a building you can't even see inside of.
