Need to reset my computer to factory settings, questions about re-installing sims 3
Hello, I have been having issue with a slow computer, I have posted before on that. It is definately the computer and not just the game. I did also add a newer video card, when doing so I saw that I had already upgraded the power supply and video card from the ones that came with my computer. So I was getting ready to reset my computer and realized that I am missing two discs- seasons and generations. I was thinking I would try to get them from origin, but saw an unanswered questions related to this on the Sims3 forum. If I reinstall the games via Origin, can I still play the games without having a disk in?

Origin installs do not require discs at all. I don't own any TS3 discs myself, my entire install has always been digital.
You will, however, land on Patch 1.69 with no way to avoid it once Origin is involved in the install. It's annoying for many of us, but not fatal.

One of my games was not listed as installed on Origin, when I did a live chat with a tech they said that since I did not have the disc anymore that they could not give me access to the missing EP. Will it be ok if I use a mix of physical discs and installs from Origin?
I can't really remember if I was on patch 1.67 or 1.69 before.

You can certainly do a mixed disc/Origin install. But if the base game or any EP/SP is an Origin install, you will be on Patch 1.69. There are no choices involved.
And again, with Patch 1.69 the game is started up through Origin, which hands off to the Launcher. There are no bypasses, no shortcuts, no passing Go, no collecting §200. EA has that all locked down now. If you weren't using Origin/the Launcher to startup before, then you weren't on 1.69 yet. You weren't missing much until now.

Igazor, about your statement above saying that "if you have any EP/SP as an Origin install you will be locked on to patch 1.69." I have a combination of disks and origin installs, and I am currently working on patch 1.67 and can run the game through the launcher. I completely uninstalled and re-installed my game b/c I was having some problems. I never did re-install the super patch (1.69). As it turned out, my problem wasn't w/the game at all, but w/my psu which died a few days after. :
