WA Travel Bug

Post by Sonshine » July 28th, 2016, 1:36 pm

Hi, I've been experiencing this pretty often now, in most families that I have somebody travel. Is there any way around this bug or anything I can do to correct it other than having the sim quit their job and re-enter that job or demolishing and replacing the bldg and having the sim re-enter that job using MC to bring all stats back to where they were before? Would it help to save before returning home and just keep going back to that save until the bug doesn't appear?

Hi Sonshine7 ... Perhaps I missed. What Travel bug are you referring to?

Where sims in the household are not able to work when the other member of the family returns home from traveling.

There are several options in Master Controller for repairing and reassigning careers and job levely. Scroll down to How To Choose Jobs On This Page

For problems experienced travelling. See if the Traveler FAQ helps you out.

Also, when you return from travelling are you using Debug Enabler to fix the home town?
CityHall / Computer> Nraas> DebugEnabler> Options: CityHall / Computer> Sim> Fix Homeworld

I mean, at first it will say that their job will "start in1 hr" (or so), then when they go to work, it will suddenly change to "starts in 1 day" in an infinite loop.

I haven't tried the debug enabler yet. I'll try that next time. I've been using MC to bring all job stats back up to where they were before after having the sim quit or demolishing the bldg.

On occasion when loading up the homeworld after a vacation, the game isn't loading the homeworld properly. Some effects are, inactive Sims not going to work, carpool system broken, not getting mail and other various problems. Using Debug Enabler usually corrects any errors during the loading of your homeworld.

Demolishing the building and/or returning to a previous save will not repair the game and it would seem reverting to a previous save sets back progress made in the current game.

I've had that bug on occasion. Using DebugEnabler as brappl mentions has always fixed it for me. I don't get that bug often, but in one save I had it almost every time the household traveled.

Thanks Brappl and Trey! I've been getting this bug pretty often lately. I will definitely try the debug enabler the next time I have a sim travel.

You are welcome. My sims travel to other towns to visit relatives and friends often. As soon as they get home I Fix Homeworld and it always reports several fixes have been made.
