That's better. So you're saying if you download the 1.69 version (download/NRaas_ErrorTrap_P169_V100.zip) you still get the popup?

Well somewhat yes. I usually get the following message and if I continue my game tends to crash after a few minutes and then goes back to the EA App. It looks like you have installed an unoffiial game modification that does not match your current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them - otherwise you may experience rashes or significant bugs. Do you want to quit?

Remove everything in your mods folder. Download the file I linked and put it in there. Start the game and confirm if the message is gone or not.

So it's not that, But I am confused. Maybe it may not even be a nraas mod but I remembered that I had this same error in the beginning when I only started with nraas mods and then started my way to downloading other mods because I thought I could bypass that and play my game. I just don't know which one it is. I'm sorry,

I suspected that was the case. That message can only be coming from core mods. The only one's we have here are ErrorTrap and UntranslatedKey (which you shouldn't be using). The other core mods I'm aware of are simler which our mods aren't compatible with... awesome mod and the XCAS mod. If you're using any of those, ensure you have the correct version for 1.69.

It is also helpful to organise mods in subfolders so you can simply move out and test
like
Packages an in there folders
Nraas
MTS (which means all mods from modthesims)

and so on

these folders you can easily move out and later backin.
If the developer said only try with one mod
namely Errortrap then copy only this package in the empty packages folder.
After testing delete it, because it is in your Nraas folder.
And use the right version of Errortrap.

If the message is gone, you know that another mod, not Nraas, is causing it.

Here you need to find out.
Move only one of the other mods folders back,
also delete all Cache files in your Sims 3 folder before starting the game.

If the message comes back, you know that in the folder you moved back at last, a culprit mod be in.
Then you need to check these files little by little.

Help

It's so confusing because I also reached out to Reddit for help and they told me this.
"If you have ErrorTrap, you've installed a wrong version. There's one for each of the playing platforms. I've had the message you've written until I got the Steam based version. Do that, clear cache, try again. Phantom explained it here. If it doesn't help, extract all CC to another disk and start again. Should that not work, you need to manually do batches of mods to see which one is causing issues. For extra help I'd advise redownloading all your mods to refresh them and scanning with Delphy's Dashboard to check for conflicts."
I will definitely try to do what you said when I get home. It's just so crazy because this never happened before. I do have the Intel Alder Lake Patch but I don't think that would be the cause but I am not a professional so I don't know.

If you are running the EA App (formerly Origin) version of the game, you are on Patch 1.69 and do not want the Steam/1.67 variant of ErrorTrap. If you are running the Steam version of the game, I don't understand what the EA App has to do with anything. Like Origin, it's not part of the mechanism that launches or runs the game.

But even if you did have the wrong variant of ErrorTrap in play, all that would do is display the core version mismatch warning on startup. It would not affect your game in ANY way. Zero. All three variants of the mod are v100 and are identical except for the initial check for the internal build/release number of the game.

This whole thing about the wrong version of a Core Mod destroying games goes back to when patch levels were 1.63 and prior. There have been no changes to the game core other than internal build numbers since 1.67 was released. Even 1.66 to 1.67 presented no substantive changes as that was a quick trivial fix.

If you are getting the issue where the game minimizes to the taskbar during startup and can't be brought back up again when the wrong variant of a Core Mod is present, that is actually the core version mismatch warning trying to appear but messing things up on Windows. Admittedly that gets in the way of gameplay, but it doesn't break the game in the sense that it corrupts game save data.

Now Core Mods from other sources could be a different story. Let's review the list of other Core Mods currently in popular usage if we could. Any of these other than ErrorTrap present?

--NRaas UntranslatedKey - this is really for developers and actually could mess up game sessions if the player is not on 1.67
--AwesomeMod - automatically accounts for 1.67 vs. 1.69/1.70, but not Steam installs
--Cmar's XCAS
--Consort's 2X Weight/Fitness
--LizCandor's Asymmetrical Relationships
--Simler90's Core Mod - not supported for use with NRaas

That's it, unless you have an older Core Mod that is no longer being supported and was really at one time meant for earlier patch levels than 1.66.

This sounds like voodoo. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

Always forget this one.

LizCandor's Asymmetrical Relationships
No idea this existed but sounds like a bad idea given how the core is designed in so many places. I wonder if this one has a scripting hook to identify it in logs or is just a direct core replacement. Might explain some of the relationship corruption I've been seeing here.
