After seeing the new thread, my last thought for narrowing down whether or not it's purely a hardware issue was to suggest that you lower all the graphics settings to their minimum and check for crashes in a world like Builder's Island - which is tiny and empty. On a fresh install / no mods. Obviously not as a solution, but to gauge whether a crash still comes out of nowhere at some point in the gameplay- which would suggest a more specific underlying issue.

Hopefully puzzlezaddict can also take a look at that dxdiag for you.
There are unfortunately no guarantees when we don't have your PC in front of us- but we'll hopefully be able to narrow it down to some educated guesses
