I recently installed the SP Money module and noticed that all inactives have bought photography cameras, even children (sometimes the expensive pro camera too). Is there any way to stop this behavior? I would like only sims actively pursuing the photography skill to have cameras in their inventory.

IIRC if you have World Adventures installed the game auto-gifts them to inactives.

Almost forgot you also need UNI installed for the game to gift them to all inactives my bad.

Everyone has a camera in their inventory, actives too (except babies and toddlers).

When you create a household, and start playing, the sims will have in their inventory a camera (the small beige one, which actually is professional and most expensive) and a high school diploma (YA and above). Only camera in the case of children.

You can not buy it, anyway. The only way you can buy it, is with the BuyDebug cheat (testingcheatsenabled true).

Those are epidemic situations.

The cameras are to encourage development of the Photography skill, which is needed for at least one of the Uni majors. We think EA did this to benefit players with Uni but not WA, in particular those who aren't familiar with the buydebug cheat, since there would be no way for these sims to visit Al Simhara, etc. to purchase one from a merchant.

igazor, Yes, but all the townies have those cameras, and they don't go to University either.

And for the players attending University, there are cameras (2 and a video camera) to be bought in the buy mode / electronics / miscellaneous section. Edited: Those cameras are with Generations.

I may be mistaken and I might not remember correctly, but that beige camera (Canontech Outlaw SE), (which all the sims have in their inventories), is not sold by any of the merchants in the WA foreign cities. They sell another one, a cheap one, yellow and blue.

One of the mysteries of the game. I give up.

I have no idea why it wasn't happening in my game until recently, because I have a distinct memory from when I was playing a year ago that my sim had to source a camera from the consignment store to gift to her son who's interested in photography. Cameras weren't growing on trees (or in pockets) then, for some reason.. It is certainly annoying, but I guess if nothing can be done *shrug*.

Only source I know of camera's are, if you have WA, the game automatically adds them when the Photography skill is initialized and it's the one specific camera. Are you certain you don't have a mod from another source adding the others?
