Active Daycare Question

Post by JohnL83 » April 5th, 2024, 3:41 pm

If I choose to "hire babysitters for inactives", but also have an active Daycare and choose to "use daycare instead of sitters", will the toddlers and babies in town go to the daycare? Or is having an active daycare only for my active lot?

It is for the whole town.

But the daycare must be at home, otherwise a babysitter will still spawn.

Normally, when no adult is at home, all babies and toddler will teleport there.

Thanks. I was hoping that was true. My only issue now is keeping the daycare Sim at home during work hours. The game loves to send them out and about, so unless my parent sim leaves for work before 8 am they rarely catch the daycare worker at home. :| Also, they ignore the kid a lot more than when active.

I'm also guessing that inactive Sims don't always stick to the traits and rewards they have while not active? I say this because when my daycare is the inactive lot I often watch the Sim do everything but pay attention to the kids! ( my Daycare Sim has all the traits and rewards to be the best daycare Sim) Yet when I make the lot active, but still leave the Sim autonomous, toddlers and kids seem to get more urgent attention and the Super Nanny reward does its thing, but if I go back to inactive the Sim finds everything to do BUT attend to the toddlers. It's kind of annoying. So I just end up cheating their needs rather than leave my poor toddler stuck in a high chair, already full, but having every sim in the house making them another bowl of food! :P I wonder if there just wasn't a way to program Sims to NOT make more food if someone else is already doing so, or at least program them to know the toddler is full and just let them out!
It's for this reason that I rarely have highchairs on inactive lots because of how often I've found toddlers left screaming in them. :-o

You can create a caste with SP for daycare career, manually or automatic
I think curfew does the trick
like from 8 to 18
Or directly give it on sim base to test.
