I already have a template that I can follow which only allows female teens in the active household to become pregnant so not to mess the neighborhood a bit too much but now I need some finer granularity

the basics I know is that I need to make a new caste just for "active Household" beyond that I'm not hella confident with the settings in question

You don't need to set anything for Caste Gender or Allow Can Be Pregnant Caste. With no specified setting, these don't impose restrictions. Pregnancy: Allow Participation should have no setting either; if you set it to Female, you're saying Males can't "participate" in pregnancies, meaning they can't be the pregnant sim or the other parent. Priority only has to be higher than any other caste that applies to the sims in question, so if all your other castes are priority zero, setting this one to 1 is sufficient.

In general, I find it's easiest to change one or two settings at a time and check their effects on the sims in question. You'd need to MC reset the sims in order for the effects to show right away (otherwise it can take a few sim-hours), but if that's too disruptive, you can do this in an experimental play session and then quit without saving once you know which settings to use.

It's also best to use the least-restrictive settings, or change the fewest settings overall, to accomplish what you want. The more settings you change, the more you risk imposing a restriction or conflict you didn't intend.

In the above example, SP default settings restrict Allow Can Be Pregnant to female YA and A sims. So you do want to explicitly state that all sims in this caste can be pregnant, overriding the block that male sims would otherwise have. Allow Participation needs to be True as well for teens to take part in a pregnancy. But, for example, when you see this under Allow Can Be Pregnant caste:

• Namely, the donor for the pregnancy must have at least one of the given castes to be successful
• If no castes are specified, this option is ignored

it's best to not use the setting unless you want only certain sims to make a given other sim pregnant. Donor" means other parent, as in, the other parent must be a part of one of the castes you list in order to make pregnant one of the sims this setting applies to. With nothing specified, a given sim covered by this setting can get pregnant with anyone as the other parent. As long as you're controlling your active sims, you get to decide who Tries for Baby with whom, so it's irrelevant in practical terms.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the relationships will need to become straight," but if you're saying you want to eliminate same-sex pregnancies, you don't have to do anything, since, as noted above, you control who Tries for Baby with whom. Or, if you don't want to be in control, set Can Be Pregnant to Female and Can Be Pregnant Caste to Male, meaning only females can be pregnant (still teens too, if you want that), and only males can be the other parent for these sims.

What I mean to say in specifix is that what if because of the values I'm adding to this Household only caste I may end up getting unintended side effects once I'm "done" using what it was intended to do while I do have woohoo-er as a fail safe (I think I have male-male pregnancies disabled in that mod) I think I should just make a concious effort in making a female-female household impregnation caste only then? And then delete the caste once I'm done... in short currently I'm playing a same-sex couple but it probably wont last and that the next generation could potentially become a straight relationship I just dont like the idea what my female sim will end up being the impregnator in a straight relationshhip (as funny as that idea is)

right now the girls are just doing Risky Woohoo which has a quite a low chance at impregnation, but then when I made a decision to try for baby everything worked as intended where in Woohoo-er took precedent where the initiator ends up being impregnated by the target

You could instead simply change the settings for these sims at the sim level rather than creating a whole new caste for them. That way, you don't have anything to delete.

Nope, the base SP mod alone will be fine.

ahahaha ohh god I forgot I unlinked story progression from Woohooer so Woohooer takes precedence in same-sex pregnancies

I unlinked story progression from woohooer because I was trying an incest and teen-pregnancies but realize that I can just slap a story progression on the sim in question rather than micromanage a caste it now all makes sense how easier it is
