1.69 is also fine, besides being a somewhat annoying DRM. Anything making it out to be some kind of evil unusable patch level is old drama- every digital install user here is getting by without issue
I did not install it over the 1.69, i just blocked the game from updating it to 1.69, and thus i am playing offline, do not need Origin, or Steam, and link example that i provided is offline patch to 1.67, from some old version game was when i first got it installed (it is not important which one) it was long time ago, i just kept installed game on the drive, and if Smooth patch was updated then it should be compatible with NRAAS mod(s). But from what i searched by issue i has/had it was reported that Smooth patch and NRAAS StoryProgression has/had some issues, i think i read about that on Steam regarding Sims 3 modding and optimization. If latest version of Smooth patch is actually compatible with NRAAS than i can safely install that one. Also EA noted that last update for Sims 3 Origin is 1.70.
But from what i saw at this site, NRAAS mods are clearly stated that they are compatible with 1.67, 1.69 and 1.70. So i do not see any need to update the game to any newer version. I can only check if maybe some of those NRAAS mods i have are maybe for older version and not for 1.67 version. But as i said i did not have any issues with the game before i added NRAAS StoryProgression and Smooth patch, those are only two newer i added, i completely by accident (i did not search them specifically) found about Smooth patch and StoryProgression.

The 1.67 SuperPatch is for the disc version of the game, it is not intended to be used in any other way.

I don't know what to tell you other than these errors are coming from the game itself, StoryProgression just tripped over them in a way that brought them to your attention. Being compatible with 1.67 doesn't mean a digital build version with the 1.67 patch forced on it is a valid install.

My guess on whether that kind of install can be supported here is no, but that's up to the admins.
Good luck, as that is all I can give.

Here this site literally says we do not need nor 1.69 is required Patch-1-69
As i said, my version of Sims 3 was old and i patched it up UP TP 1.67, and there is NO NEED to touch update, nor it is advised to use Origin, but bypass it entirely. So if I want to reinstall it, i would need to buy the game on Steam, and is better to just download ripped game with 1.67 which gonna be EXACTLY the same as installing it from Steam.

So to just be sure i was understood, i DID NOT patch the game with 1.67 OVER 1.69, i just did not use Origin when they dropped 1.69, and used Launcher for 1.67. I have somewhere disk version of SIms, but i did not need that to reinstall, because it is working without reinstalling it with disk. The main issue is with some mods for which i posted a picture and asked if there is some possible incompatibility with those. But none gave firm answer confirming that.
I then (when i had that action lag issue) removed StoryProgression both modules and game was working fine. I re-added those again and re-added Resource cfg file again, and for now game is working fine, it gives occasional random sim script error but my family is working fine>
