before I "nuke" the home lot via reset lot is there any fix that my front door can not be "upgraded" to have other doorbell options 1 of the active sims can upgrade other lot's doorbells just fine

this is how it looks like from my end I have changed the doors already and "nothing" seems to work not sure if its due to the house layout being "wonky"?

It means the game doesn't think that door is the lots front door. You can temporarily change this with Debugenabler but on reload it will reset though the doorbell upgrade should stay. However, Sims are likely already not going to that door to enter the lot since it's not considered the front door so no one will ring it. You'll have to rotate the lot in edit town to resolve that.

hmmm how does the game treat lots with fence gates I have a hunch thats probably the issue if it is then most likely than not I do not need a "door" but another "doorbell"

verified the game treats fencegates as a "valid" front door which mean automatically I can't slap a doorbell on the "frontdoor"
