Hi,
I'm trying to make IP work better and one thing that came to my mind is the truck issues since this is an island world with roads on different islands.
First of all, I'm using IP as a vacation world via traveler. I have the "enable truck on vacation" set to false, but for some reason it had never worked for any worlds. I set the icecream truck to 0 and it seems to have improved the game.
I tried the same thing for the food truck, but it doesn't seem to have an effect. First of all, no food trucks ever spawned in IP, but I think that is because I have "require parking space" set to true. However, I set the max truck to 0 but didn't get any improvement. So, I enable the "display debug" for NRAAS traffic. This started to display this message every 30 secs. (Faster if I set the game speed higher)

When I set the "require parking space" to false, the code changed to 0 0 68. What I noticed was, there is a minipause right before the message is displayed each time. During normal play it is slightly noticeable, but drastically lags the game when the speed is up to fast or ultra.
Just wondering if anyone has similar issues or know a fix? Thanks!

Hi nitromon, and thanks for posting this over here. This is the right place but just FYI, if you don't get a response within a couple of days, we'll allow a repost in Chatterbox and just lock this one up temporarily. Our lead developer has limited availability temporarily, and you will get more visibility from other players in CB.
Also, as I just asked by PM at MTS, are you certain that you have v21 of Traffic installed? It sounded as if the mod was doing some things backwards from what your settings indicated.

@Nitromon; The update you have seen is a Swedish translation update on 07/09/2015 within the mod. No other changes has been made towards the actual interactions of the mod as of the release of V21 on Oct the 19th 2013.
As what Igazor said, those mini-pauses are caused by having Debugging enabled.
Later on today, I'll run a test game and see if I can replicate the issue on my system, with just NRaas mods installed. Which NRaas mods do you have installed, beside the Traffic mod?

Ran a test with a negative result to your issue which I was unable to replicate (no icecream and no foodtruck) on vacation destination IP. But.......
perhaps I did my test in a wrong order and maybe having the mod Gohere in my setup helped. I dunno.
What I did is starting a New Game on SV and disable the settings for the Icecream and FoodTruck (everything to False and values to 0). I did this just to see how those settings handle the stuff in the Homeworld.
Ran it for 2 days and no trucks in sight, then my active Sim traveled to IP (crinches) expecting the settings to revert to its default, to my surprise the changes I made on my Traffic Homeworld settings, transferred too IP. Also ran that world for 2 simsdays (till 18:00 hours the next day) and also no Trucks in sight.
Since it's getting late, I'll try tomorrow with Trucks activated in the Homeworld and then I'll see how it goes in IP as a vacation destination when I try to disable it there.

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt response. I didn't get a chance to test the "no truck on vacation," but I'm wondering if that is triggered, does it mean I still have to delete the existing icecream truck? Because I notice I had to do that even after I set the truck to 0. As long as it doesn't create a new one.
I did notice a noticeable improvement to Island Paradise when I eliminated the icecream truck. I never had the food truck, but I'm sure now it is because I had the "require parking spot" enabled. I had the minipauses before I turn on the debugger for Traffic, that is why I turned it on, to see if it was causing it. It is difficult to tell whether it really is the debugger causing the minipauses or some other lag that is just coincidental. It is very subtle and mostly noticeable only when the game speed is sped up.
I'm wondering if the trucks are having issues b/c they're trying to rout to the other islands? I did try a game without NRAAS traffic, in which EA puts in the icecream truck anyways and the performance was similar or I just can't really tell.
I'm running varioius other NRAAS mods, just the general ones relativity, MC, SP, OW, error trap, Traveler, Dresser, decensor. Anyhow, I was really hoping it was indeed some lag created by the trucks. I'm trying anything just to get IP to run better.

Reasons why I try to ignore that map, due to so many routing issues on the worldmap, houseboats, lots and in the ocean. Though Ellacharmed fixes does help a lot, but you still need to check every houses, cause some are just painfully wrong build.
Since I deactivated the Trucks on my Homeworld, those settings transferred to vacation destination IP, which basically didn't activate the trucks in IP (I've checked frequently on MC> Town> Object Stats> Not in Inventory).
Though as you said, I also did experience minipauses during those 2 Sims days. Though I believe they were coming in my game from those Houseboats. After I deleted all of them, I had no minipauses at all.
As for the Trucks, if they are still there after you have disabled them, you can purge them manually with MC> Town> Object Stats> Not In inventory> and search for Objecs.Vehicles."......".Trucks ("....." being Food or Icecream). Usually the game should wipe them right away, but since this is the Sims 3, they could just sit there on one spot, pertaining having engine problems.
I'll check later today with only those mods and what I already mentioned in my previous reply have those trucks activated in my Homeworld and then travel to IP and deactivate them.
