No fridge shopping for inactive family member

Post by Lulu » August 8th, 2023, 4:54 am

Hello!
I'm playing with two sims in the household - my main sim and her husband, which i made non-selected via MasterController. As No Fridge Shopping affects only active family members, he's not included in this mechanic and prepares meals like any other townie, buying ingredients from fridge. I was thinking of editing mod with S3PE, but the only XML file doesn't have the option to specify which sims would be affected (and I'm not so skilled into coding).
Is there a way to modify this mod to include inactive family members? Or can I make husband unplayable when he's still marked as active family member?
Thanks!

I'm not sure there is an elegant solution. Unfortunately, there isn't much middle ground between unplayable and playable sims.

It's a little easier if you don't mind him not cooking at all, you could move the fridge into a locked pantry or gated area- plus the mod 'Eat & Put Away Leftovers' would also help, to make sure nobody is cooking autonomously if there is already food.
If he is meant to be cooking, sometimes the most powerful mod of all just has to be playing pretend. In this case, leaving him selectable and just choosing not to.

I'll try this idea with Eat & Put Away Leftovers - my female sim almost always cooks for all guests and family, so the food is always in the fridge. If male sim would only eat the leftovers and not making another meal, this practically solves my problem. Thanks! :)
