Skills are gaining at a ridiculous rate and it's destroying my fun with the game... I've been using Nraas Relativity in an attempt to fix this bug but it's only a temporary fix. I have no idea if this is a mod problem or something else, more details below.

• The athletic skill for example gains roughly 4-5 levels in one sitting with a non-athletic & non-vampire sim
• Other skills are similar and the skill meter seems to "jump" in massive increments
• I am using a modded game, mainly following a Steam guide which includes dozens of game fix/improvements mods

I have been using Nraas Relativity's skill gain factor mod, reducing it to roughly 0.33 to contain the skill increase bug, but once I get to about level 7 in most skills the skill gain is so slow it's almost impossible to get to level 10 before my Sim dies. Means its not a permanent fix

I have no idea what to do anymore apart from removing every single mod.

Ok, I managed to fix it but I don't understand why this helped.

In Nraas Relativity I turned all "Relative Skills" to false, and also disabled the life skill adjustment setting. This made my sim gain only about 2.5 athletic levels in one exercise session which is much more realistic I think.

However, after level 1 the skills seem to have a speed boost? It's kind of weird, they start to boost up like they're at warp speed compared to level 1. Level 2 took a bit less time than level 1.

Yet another reply and update. Problem is back! I have no idea what it is but it seems to be a problem only with newly created Sims. After about 3 days the skill problem is gone.

I've tried resetting the Sim but nothing works until the game sorts itself out after a while. I'm at a loss

I've experienced this with new sims, sometimes new worlds that of course are full of new (to me) sims, and certain particular skills. Not the Athletic skill, but more consistently for me it's Street Art and with or without Relativity "helping." For whatever reason, if I just give my sims a break from skilling up for a few sim days it all sorts itself out in due course. I'm not sure our developer has ever been able to re-create this issue.

It's good to know someone else has this issue, I'm wondering if I could manually force Overwatch to run several times in one day? At the moment I'm using a mix of relativity and overwatch to counter this bug and as you can imagine it's slightly infuriating

I think my problem is solved. I must have done something but now the skill gain is a bit slower, I even tried removing all mods but it was still the same! I compared my athletic skill gain to a speedrun attempt on YouTube (they got to master level in 12 minutes!) and it does look like its mostly back to normal.

My only thought is that either I misremembered just how fast athletic skill was compared to some other skills or I may have deleted a suspect mod that caused the problem.
