Thank you both for the suggestions! I will probably go with CardinalSims's suggestion this time (that sounds like a really good method, and I think I've used something similar in the past with good results) but keep the mini-Sim option in mind for circumstances in the future.

Would I just have the minisim return home through traveling back to their homeworld via phone and leaving Sim B in the vacation world, then going back to the vacation world and having Sim B return home? Nevermind: I fixed it somehow! Deleted caches, reset everything using MC, and deleted the imaginary doll that kept popping up in the script error. I also deleted the Random Events mod and NPC Romance mod.
